DEAN: "Democrats don't feel like anyone much cares what they have to say [about national security]."

Even a stopped clock...

First thing he said I agree with, we don't care!

Perle's last question to Dean was excellent. Paraphrasing:

"If I was Chairman of the DNC, or the RNC for that matter, I might talk about these issues in a partisan manner, but I kept for years a quote from my old boss [Dem Senator] Scoop Jackson over my desk at the Pentagon, 'in matters of national security the best politics is no politics'. [So] as the newly minted DNC chairman, what do you intend to do to ease the partisan rancor of these necessary and important debates."

Dean answered (solely) by blaming Bush for the partisanship, although he made a great, if phony show, of being deeply saddened and oh so reluctant to do so.

IOW Perle cleverly accused Dean of rancorous partisanship, and Dean stupidly confirmed him!
