It just started on C-Span 1
And I am listening to Dean's opening speech. He doesn't know diddly-squat about geopolitical issues. He dared to mention "re-upping on the Clinton deal." But he didn't mention that NK developed its apparently existing nuclear weapons under an Agreement negotiated through Madeline Albright.
What a maroon. He is acting outside the purview of his job, and doing so incompetently. That's good for us, because it is a disaster for the Democrats.
Congressman Billybob
I don't understand how Perle could say that we should have turned Iraq over immediately...it seems obvious what chaos would have ensued.
If you can watch it here, basically it's his campaing stuff and Kerry said more troops I trust Kerry and democrats on defense of this country not republicans.

I don't have the damn real player and it would take me a good couple of hours to download. But thanks anyway.
we can see that Howie studied "Hand Gestures While Speaking" by Bubba Clinton.

scroll down to c-span 1..it plays on windows media player too
...before he said less troops. Like he said to transfer soverignty according to an "accelerated time table," i.e. on a specific date, before he said that the specific date, when it came, was "arbitrary" and too soon. Etc, ad infinitum.
I would try to update you but I can't make heads or tails out of what Dean is saying. If you are a college kid with a two sentence limit on the answer to every problem in the world today, Dean is clever.
Historically the last strong Democrat on defense was JFK.
For "his" audience that equals gravitas, nuance and sophistication. They've been carefully taught to distrust and reject clarity.
Is it just me or is Dean having a hard time talking .
Perle just spanked DUmbocRATS, saying Dean should stop trying to change their image and try to change his party's anti-military positions.
since when has a dimocRAT EVER observed or adhered to the constraints of either law or propriety when it is more convenient for them to do otherwise ?
Apparently this point is continuing to bug Dean. He isn't answering the current question but is rebutting the previous answers.
Social Security? What does that have to do with this debate?
Why is it that Richard Perle is answering the questions and promoting positive discourse on the issues raised, yet Dean can only bash the Bush administration? Just answer the question you dope!
I believe Dean just said we should spend more on intelligence and less on defense. We should defend ourselves, according to him, but we can't send the wrong message. Bush is setting the stage for America's decline...Dean of course is speaking on the move from a slide leading to a great abyss.
