It's interesting how quickly she changed her name back to just "Heinz" once the campaign was over.

the first lady wannabe said that the press was largely responsible for the perception that her husband ignored the environment during the 2004 campaign Oh, so that was the problem.

Hmmm... Ms. Heinz is it? Maybe she's decided to dump Kerry and go after Hillary? She will do just about anything to get to the White House and so far, she's batting 0 for 2 in the 'Man As Vehicle' department.

Just this morning I was explaining to my teenage daughter what the term "Limousine Liberal" means.
I'll point this article out to her for a reference.

But their comments were not reported.
No place to squeeze those comments in between all the Vietnam battles that Kerry said he fought in. And besides, He had to get off his surfboard and skis in order to make comments.

Instead she accused reporters of falsely presenting the facts about climate change as a "duel of battling scientists".
Climate change is fact----blah, blah, blah. The longer these libs keep trying to ram their unproven "facts" down our throats, the longer we will remain in power.

Then why didn't presidential candidate Kerry throw his full and vocal support behind the Cape Wind offshore wind farm, and convince his fellow Mass. Senator, Governor, and other folks to do the same????????

She insisted that John Kerry discussed energy issues every day and claimed that she frequently talked about "sustainability."Yes, she sustains the viability of her fleet of gas guzzling transportation by supplying it with vast amounts of the fossil fuels she and hubby so ardently rail against.

What did get covered was the fact that the Heinz Kerrys' owned a gas guzzling private jet, a yacht Teresa bought for her husband, four SUV's and five giant mansions that burn up thousands of gallons of oil each year to heat and cool. No Teraysu, it wasn't that you and Skerry owned them, it was the classic John Kerry/Bill Clinton word game of trying to say that he didn't own them, the family owned them, therefore he shouldn't be acccused of hypocrisy for owning an SUV.

These people are delusional. I think Kerry's biggest problem, in general, was he didn't show anyone, nominally a Bush supporter, why they should change their support. He got all the natural democrat constituencis (gays, welfare moms, trial lawyers, abortion providers), but no one on the fence saw anything from him (or his wife) that said, "I should go with this guy." Instead, he wishy-washed his way through every issue. And his well-known supporters looked like the bar scene from Star Wars.
When you are trying to unseat an incumbent president, you have to really close the sale. People in the middle just never saw any reason to change from GWB to JFK.

Teresa Heinz blamed the media for distorting their position on the environment. I don't remember the media distorting much about T.H. that wasn't in her favor. Although I'm sure that the direct quotes didn't help her.
The real media distortions emphasized a gun totin', goose huntin', multi-purple hearted war hero, one of a band of brothers, who had all these wonderful (but too complicated to explain to us serfs) "plans" for a stronger America.
Oh, and I wonder if she considers forgery to be a media distortion.

of the reasons that kerry lost the election, lack of coverage on his environmental position ranks in the bottom 5%. for that to be true, greenies would have had to flock to nader or the green party candidate, which they demonstrably did not, or to GWB, which also didn't happen.
and they can forget the "greens stayed at home" argument, because turnout was monstrous.
