Here's the thing...if you walk into a book store, there are plenty of leftist screed 'books' all over the place. No one looks at this and says "I'm through with the publishing industry". For some reason the movie business drives reasonable people into rashness and sweeping generalizations. What a twerp like Alex Baldwin or Whoopi Goldberg say has nothing to do with a huge and varied industry. Those two I mentioned are minor figures who aren't running anything except their mouth. Back in the heyday of the studio system it was possible to think of the American film industry as monolithic. It isn't anymore and hasn't been since the 1960s.
