any "crazy" stuff McCain might try as president, can be checked by maintaining a republican congress. hell, its happening right now with Bush on some immigration issues, and on this idea of raising the SS tax cap. it would be no different with McCain, there are always going to be some issues where a republican president has differences with the base. that's no reason to elect Hillary.

Hmmmmm...and how does one explain the current limitations on free speech (McCain-Feingold).

Kerry was bathed all over again in the dirty water of his lies and misdeeds last night. May he forever be stained. God Bless the Swifties!!! Where would we be without their courage and integrity??? As I've said, the truth is a stalker.

Bush signed the bill. and the courts let us down too. that battle is not over however, and as the 527s proved this election cycle, there are ways around it anyway.

Everyone? I would rather win with an imperfect candidate than lose to a monster who would try to undermine everything I stand for. By not voting for the GOP candidate, you are in essence helping the Dem. You may wish to lose on principle, but I want to win as a practical matter.

Ugh, she's looking rougher than usual! The term "butch" immediately comes to mind.

Didn't see the presser, but if McCain sunk that low, I'm just sick. What's so great these days is the technology that preserves every word. That speech will be shown, along with his many other self-serving comments, during any future run.
They should've gone out of their way to spend as much time as possible, lauding and giving support to our troops, buoying them up ... I HATE politicians!

bogus? how's that? if a republican loses the election, the democrat wins. those are the only two options.

its amazing on how these political threads, the freepers who come on here and say they will vote for ANY republican over Hillary, are branded as the traitors. while the people who seem to say that they have no problem letting Hillary walk into the white house, somehow claim the mantra of the "true conservatives". unreal.

McCain is running as the GOP candiate for President in 2008, not VP. He will have a problem getting it, but McCain may be the default candidate given his name recognition and press adulation

Not if I can help it. I even changed my tagline in honor of his press conference today.

Gotta disagree on that, I think he would run as VP to ANYONE at this point, and I say that because of his age.

Fair enough, but how will you vote if McCain becomes the nominee? FYI: McCain has an ACU lifetime voting record of 84% which makes him more conservative than any Democrat in the Senate. He supported tax cuts. He supported a ban on partial birth abortion. He supported the appointment of judicial nominees by President Bush.

TO ALL:

Did anyone tape the news conference by any chance?

If anyone did, could you please transcribe McCain's statements about how we may withdraw if suffer large number of casualties from the insurgents, or something to that effect?

If you do thanks in advance, and could you please ping me and demkicker to it?

Thanks.

That's my hope. May his words today come back and haunt him forever.

Excuse me...?

What are you drinking? I did not brand you as a traitor...I simply disagree. Is this not a forum for discussion? Whom is being intolerant now?
