Utah and Iowa showed some sanity today, along with the House last week on the illegal drivers license issue
To: SmithL
Senators said they were alarmed by an investigation that found 58,000 undocumented workers had Utah driver's licenses and that some non-citizens were able to use the licenses to register to vote and cast ballots at the polls. Well, who would have ever expected that to happen? I thought they just needed licenses to drive to work and take the children to school.

The driving "privilege" card could not be used to board a plane, register to vote or obtain any other official identification. It would have to be renewed annually and would have different fonts and colors than a regular driver's license. Why, if they have enough information to issue this, don't they have enough information to give them a swift kick in the @ss back across the border?
