Real Time with Bill Maher: Lesley Stahl
HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher ^ | February 18, 2005 | aas

Posted on 02/18/2005 8:50:35 PM PST by an amused spectator

Is anybody watching Maher's Real Time? I couldn't believe seeing Lesley Stahl! on Maher's show b*tching about Gannon and the White House. Unfreakingbelieveable!

I wanted to ask Lesley "The Hairdo" if she didn't have some documents to forge or something, instead of bashing Gannon and the White House. Then I realized that it's her JOB to bash the Bush White House, so she was actually working.

She kept "wondering" how a guy with a fake name could get Secret Service clearance, so she's either completely stupid, or she was deliberately feeding the audience the phony MSM line about Gannon.

You're cute when you're a dumb blonde, Lesley.

Following the blonde bimbette, Maher had a panel of three: Joe "Plagiarism 101" Biden, Tommy Thompson, and Robin "I Was Funny When I was Doing Coke" Williams.

Robin Williams was continuously and unfunnily bashing the Pubbies. He kept making gay jokes about Gannon, which apparently is OK if you're wearing a red diaper.

Anybody else catch this? I was coming off a DVD onto regular TV, so this was an accidental exposure. I generally don't give the little jerk Maher the time of day.

From Maher's HBO website:

A new season of Real Time with Bill Maher begins Friday, February 18 at 11 pm.

This week, Bill's guests actor Robin Williams, Sen. Joe Biden, former HHS Sec. Tommy Thompson, actor Don Cheadle, and correspondent Lesley Stahl discuss such hot topics as the Iraqi elections, and what's going on with Iran.

Apparently, Maher's coming out swinging in his new season. The episode (#44) will be re-broadcast @ 1am EDT (10pm PDT) on various HBO stations.

They'll eventually get a transcript of the round table with Williams, Biden & Thompson up, but not tonight.

I was watching a good DVD and flipped back to regular TV to shut down. I was confronted with the Wicked Witch of 60 Minutes and I couldn't figure out why she was on Maher's show, of all things. I'm going to have to review the whole episode, because apparently she was supposed to be talking about Iraq, and there was no mention of Gannon on the schedule.

They're still ooohing and ahhhing over the Mighty Chipmunk (Gannon) that they bagged.

I watched it just to see if he tried in any way to be more even-handed. He didn't.

Robin Williams is an absolute ass. I hate watching anything with him on it - the little jerk never shuts up and I don't think he's funny. He is basically doing the same act he always has.

Of course they pick Tommy Thompson - he isn't exactly the most agressive guy out there and he (imagine this!) DOESN'T talk over others. Who's next Bill "Milquetoast" Friltz?

Biden wants a Senate investigation of the Gannon "security breach"! LOLOL!!!

Does Biden want a chipmunk pelt to hang in his Senate chambers?*

*"Of course, the lefty bloggers are determined to make Gannon into a huge story. But no matter how many times the great hunters say "Did you see the size of that chipmunk!" and no matter how much parsley you garnish the plate with, it's still a chipmunk." - Jonah Goldberg: Raines, Rather, Jordan... Was Lesley Stahl on the Gannon thing the entire time, or did she actually discuss other things? I cut in somewhere in the middle of her appearance, so her fixation with Gannon was kind of surreal to me.

1am EDT or 10pm PDT. From the looks of things, these episodes are re-broadcast more than once.

I'm big on giving people second, and sometimes third chances. However, when shortly following 9/11 Mr. Maher chose to say the following, I put this alleged human on my (very short, actually) list of hopeless creeps:

"They blow themselves up in order to get at us & we launch 3 million dollar missiles off of giant floating iron islands 2000 miles away, who are the real cowards? "

.

Robin Williams was much more entertaining when he was coked out of his mind. While their were some entertaining moments in his last televised NYC show, Reality What a Concept, which was his first released, show was incredible.

This just in from a fellow Freeper:

"The White House press secretary, Scott McClellan, said on Thursday night that Mr. Guckert had used his real name in applying for day passes. He never applied for a permanent pass, known as a "hard pass," which is granted after a thorough background check by the Secret Service and has much tighter restrictions, Mr. McClellan said."

So, Ms. Stahl knows all this info, or she's a complete ditz. I would assume that Stahl knows the difference between a day pass and a "hard" pass, so she was probably playing a set piece for the audience.

What else can you expect from "TROPHY HUNTERS". Did they "blood" the hunter????

That Gannon guy is a male hooker into a lot of weird sexual practices. I braved a few liberal blogs, and I was very shocked at what I saw. I can't blame the liberals for laughing. I sure got some laughs at their expense from the Monica Lewinsky escapades.

OK, I watched the whole Lesley Stahl segment from the top.

My assessment: Stahl is completely clueless about the incident, and she's talking out her a**. She apparently had a choice between actually informing herself about the Gannon thing, or a five hour date with her beautician (also know as Re-Animator).

Her hair looks great.

Somebody told her it was about the "hard" pass deal that she's familiar with, and her mind is stuck in gear on that. She's not getting the whole "day pass" thing, and she hasn't informed herself about the Gannon situation enough to talk with any authority on it.

She thinks there's more behind the situation, but 'the information hasn't come out yet'.

Except on Thursday, Lesley dear, and other things that are known here on Free Republic. Guess they don't clutter their minds with the facts at the beauty parlor... ;-)

I can't watch Leslie till she gets a new wig.

Maher was saying that they're trying to attract a more conservative audience so there's more equality in the thunderous applause for both sides. Shows like this should do it.

Gannon and Lewinsky are apples and oranges. Gannon has nothing to do with President Bush, while Lewinsky was "doing" President Clinton.

I'd also be willing to bet that the laughing that the libs are doing would be "hate speech" in their San Francisco stronghold...

Maybe they got a special dispensation from the Pope of Buggery, Barney Frank... ;-)
