With legal and illegal immigration the US population grew only 1% last year. Without immigration we can not replace the aging baby boomers and we will have real freepin problems.

I would seriously question your 1% figure, because we are gaining one-million illegal immigrants per month, and that works out to well over your 1%.

According to the Census Bureau between 2000 and 2004 nearly 6.1 million new immigrants (legal and illegal) arrived from abroad. New arrivals are offset by deaths and return migration among the existing immigrant population so that the net total increased by 4.3 million.

About half are illegal. That comes to about 42,000 illegals a month. You are grossly misinformed.
