Sen. Bill Nelson (FL) will be replaced by a Republican in 2006, joining Sen. Mel Martinez (FL) who was elected in November, replacing former Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL).

Believe that RPOF has one of the best State parties in the Country. Their Chairman and media wing are on top of everything!

Uh-oh.

Is Nelson going to follow his leader's example and ask the President to denounce this release from the RNC?

If he is smart, he will take a lesson from Lawton Chiles.

Chiles was a radical leftist skunk, but he knew how to talk like a cracker, and most people who weren't politically active were fooled into thinking he was a typical Florida native.

Actually Nelson is a cross between cracker and windbag. Cracker-talk is no longer an asset in FL politics.
Katherine Harris is one possibility to replace Nelson, but there are others.

I don't know what's wrong with the formatting of your post, but I hate Bill Nelson because he got a ride in the space shuttle just because he insisted on it b/c he was a Florida congressman. He didn't deserve what I'd kill for.

Wasn't Nelson's family tied to the land deal at the Cape? I always heard that's how he got his big ride.

I saw the debates on "Tort reform", but I missed the vote.

Do you know the final tally?

Jeez, tort reform got some of the best applause during Bush's campaign speeches---you woulda thunk that those Senators would have payed attention to the actual voters ---but NO, they are the Obstructionist Party, whose motto is "Just Say No"---

I don't know. If you have a source, I'd like to read it. Glenn's second flight was pretty bogus, too. He had a hard time justifying it in his own autobio.

I hope Nelson can be replaced by a Republican. However I am not sure who that would be at this time. Jeb Bush would be a great choice but I am not sure he would run.

Great idea. Jeb could both get us another GOP seat and keep his résumé warm for 6 years before he runs for President in 2016 (hopefully).

The Republican grassroots machine was focused big time on Florida in 2004, so we certainly know where to go to get the votes. Nelson doesn't look as if he can finese his liberal voting record a lot.
