Early reports of a 6.9 earthquake off the coast of Sumatra.

Confirmed on Fox. 6.9
Enough with the tsunamis.
Heard it on Fox.......aren't Clinton and GHW Bush traveling over there?
6.9 is probably iffy about creating a tsunami. But there are reports of (understandable) wide spread panic developing with the locals.
Prayers....
The good news is that everyone in Indonesia is smart enough not to be hanging out on the beach after 12/26/04.
6.9 is not huge in the overall scheme of things, but prayers for the safety of all....
Oh no...
The Tsunami quake was first reported smaller than it really was.
Where are all the elephants?
yeah.....I think I heard a geophysicist say they needed a 7 or 8 to create a tsunami there.....either way, I hear there may be damage and injuries........
I guess the nucular test wasn't big enough ;-)
7.0 is considered the threshhold for tsunamis. So this one is on the edge. But anything generated would be nowhere near what was created from the big one.
Yeah, the Israelis didn't have enough dumbassium on hand for us to use so we had to make do with a smaller amount. Damn them!
These nasty things frequently go up when they are studied. I bet it was a 7 at least. Enough to feel and do damage.
I feel for these people. Some of them are rebuilding homes now that tumbled.
Would make me need mass quantities of alcohol to deal with that.
Hey, Ibrahim, where's the dog?
Any large cities affected?
Who thought that earthquakes were done and over with in the region? There weren't a whole lot of aftershocks reported with the last one. I don't know much about the nature of plate movement, but aren't there usually alot of after shocks following a big shift?
Could be that there is much to go, or a new Island is going to pop up from the sea soon, or worse, a volcano that spews tons of Carbon dioxide, screwing up UN global warming fanatics forever and a year.
