Hillary Clinton to visit Iraq AFP: 2/18/2005 BAGHDAD, Feb 18 (AFP) - US senator Hillary Clinton, wife of former president Bill Clinton, is expected in Baghdad on Saturday, a source at the US embassy said on Friday.

The source said the five-member delegation would hold talks with Iraqi government officials and members of the national assembly, whose makeup was confirmed Thursday by the electoral commission.

Heading the US delegation is John McCain, the Republican senator for Arizona and one-time rival of US President George W. Bush. McCain has been critical of the US administration's policies in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion.

The delegation also includes senators Russel Feingold, Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham.

well he threw that out on the table but should have waited....there a many who think who could be used to seal a deal maybe as a compromise but it is still up in the air.....just wondered why we tend to throw our Repubs cause they are not 100% thinking the same......seems like every once in awhile you or me or anyone gets a different take on an idea or issue and throw it out there....I myself would rather hear of new things to choose from than to walk in lock step all the time.....brainstorming is a good thing, we don't have to follow thru but I like people thinking outside the box and showing initiative.....don't get me wrong, if he did it on every issue or leaned left on his votes then I would be more concerned

It was not thrown out on the table. He is working with democrats and other republicans to sabotage the president.

Raising taxes is not a viable solution. He fed the media with his proposal....much as McCain always does.

ok if McCain is heading the delegation why is Hillary's name on the first line in the story, also why do they need to mention one-time rival and critical of the US administration? BIAS? hmmm

I am beginning to thinkt that Bush only tossed that out there as a political move....

Because it strengthened the conservatives and republicans against taxes.....

And put a spotlight on dems to see if they would once again advocate tax hikes.

Think about it.....it happened at the same time that Rove was getting Republicans fired up.

you or I can't speculate on his motives, only actions. I don't believe he is a tax raiser nor am I.......but this is a situational tough tough issue and I too like Bush would like to hear every idea out there no matter how weird. That is how businesses do it too.....I for one like partisanship WHEN possible....working with the other side in and of itself is not evil. I may not even agree with it, my point is that this is ONE issue and I've already heard people call him a RINO.....that is absurd....RINO's have a pattern like Chaffee, Snow, Spector and at times McCain that Graham just hasn't exhibited to me yet

I agree and that has been speculated on by different pundits on the blogs and cable......I just am not so quick to judge, just my nature, and I'll listen perhaps more than some here....in the final analysis though, I usually support the conservative cause........I don't rule out that Karl Rove is a crafty strategic thinker who doesn't fail often so we will see

Lindsay Graham and his obssession with Hillary Clinton is getting on my last nerve.

There was recently an article in the New Yorker discussing Hillary's prospects for the Presidency and who shows up in the article lavishing praise on the junior senator from NY but good ol'Lindsay: "She's the first one I pick up the phone and call when I want to get bipartisan support for a bill."

I thought I was going to hurl when I read that.
