C'mon, let's be intellectually honest. """

That's a tall order for some freepers - - who can't recognize corruption when it has an R after its name. The Gannon thing stinks - - it's the kind of thing I'd have expected from Clinton's White House (and I would have castigated them for it, along with most of the folks on this board). When an alleged male prostitute gets set up in a phony White House media job - - with either the connivance of people at the White House, or through alarming security lapses -- I'm not going to close my eyes and cover my ears just because it's a Republican White House. I'm a Republican because I believe in standards - - - and if you believe in standards you can't apply one set to Democrats and another to your own party.

Am I missing something? What in the world is wrong with a reporter who has an agenda ? Its not like this has never happened before. I'm personally at a loss to understand what a reporters sex life, financial life, and even his affiliations have to do with having access. If anything granting access to a wide range of reporters large and small, liberal and conservative, broke and rich, gay and straight etc, makes for a better overall group which can bring their various biases to bear.

Gee, and here I was expecting all kinds of love and compassion from you.

How do you know the guy's a Republican? Have the photos been authenticated? Why is it a "security lapse"?

The Nation has a pass to the briefings and they're commie scum. A gay, internet, porn guy looks like Shirley Temple in comparison.

I wanted to believe this was a lib conspiracy, but after following some pretty nauseous links I think the whole thing is just too damn complex and well-documented. A million liberals with a million laptops couldn't put this farce together.

But I am going to withhold judgment for a few days to give time for more facts(?) to be dug up and analysed. The thing should gel or fall apart in the next few days.

Why? What, exactly, would the problem be with this happening in ANY White House? When this issue first broke, I was alarmed that a guy had seemingly gotten access to the White House using a false name, but once it was clear that the White House knew his real identity, what's the big deal? There are lots of reporters with agendas, and I'd bet there are lots with bizarre sexual practices. What does any of this have to do with the administration? I would not be castigating Clinton over an analogous situation.
