I do. I would like nothing better than to see him purge the last remaining Baathists from Iraq's government and pursue a get tough approach towards the terrorist insurgents. If there's any one who can secure Iraq's democratic future, its Ahmad Chalabi. Let's hope he wins.

I read in the WashPost that Chalabi has a plan B to get the Prime Minister's spot if Jafaari wins out in the UIA: Chalabi has strong ties to the Kurds (who hold 26% of the vote) and can bring the vote to the floor with his UIA faction (the INC) and the Kurds putting Chalabi in power.
I think poeple don't trust him because he's such a cunning politician.

Even more, the Iraqi Constitution states that 2/3 of the National Assembly must vote for the Prime Minister and President. That's 184 votes. The UAI only has 141 votes. Chalabi will be the compromise candidate.
