How horrible it would be fighting for your country and see the actions of those spoken in this article.
Outraged, yes I am ticked off again.
Isn't it kinda late in the game to still be protesting the war? I mean, now we're working on preparations for leaving. Even the nutty International Socialist Organization at the university has quit.
they will still be protesting the war when the US troops leave in a decade.
How can they find time to do this? Aren't they busy with their "US Out Of Japan" and "Leave Germany NOW!" rallies?
What can we expect to see... "Bush is Hitler" sign, black anarchy tee shirts, dreadlocks, token B-grade "celebrity" on the soap box screaming hate-filled ad hominem attack on the President, Birkenstock sandals, token soldier-turned-Lefty trying to "get some" from a hippie chick by protesting, bongo drum and tamborine ensemble, stale chant of "Hey-ho, hey-ho, George Bush has got to go...", etc. etc. etc.
They want us to leave not because they care about the Iraqis - they don't: they know damn well that if we left now there would be massive killing, the democratically elected government would be overthrown and a Taliban like Islamist dictatorship would be put it place. No, they want us to leave because they want America to fail. America's sucess is what they fear most. They could give a damn about Iraq or America for that matter.
I'd rather spend my time in seminars on how to play my role as a responsible citizen in moulding public perception or in learning more about regimes that are threatening our country.
We should be more positive and action oriented. Liberals possibly cant fight al-qaeda or rogue regimes afterall and can only irritate us.
The battle with liberals is only for capturing the public perception, they dont even matter when it comes to anything else. They are too insignificant to even take note of.
I advise young conservatives to :
1. Think Iran and North Korea
2. Think how to mould public perception on :
(a) giving feds complete authority to interrogate prisoners
(b) developing and using tactile nuclear weaponry
(c) necessity of pre-emption
3. Ignore the liberals.

Gee, and I thought you supported the troops!
Guess that mask didn't work for you, huh?
Keep talking. Keep saying garbage like this. Keep producing masses that look as though they stepped out of a Star Wars Bar scene. The American people will respond, perhaps just not as you wished.
Denny Crane: "There are two places to find the truth. First God and then Fox News."
Wow, the illogic there. You find it odd that those willing to risk their lives at the local level are more likely than the average, lazy citizen to risk their lives as well at the national level? Earth to Richardson, come in Richardson...
"Family and community structures are not set up for the kind of deployment that these people in the Guard are enduring. The idea of 18-month deployments, and now they're talking about two-year deployments, is devastating. . .
Cry me a river. Talk with some of the surviving crews from the 8th Army Air Force. This was a National Guard Army Air Force unit. They were deployed to the ETO and were responsible for the vast majority of the daylight raids into occupied Europe.
When they left, they knew they were in it for the long haul- til it was over not just 18 months. Then, the powers that be lowered that to 25 missions. The mighty 8th realized that meant you were probably gonna die, as the average was 20 missions before your bird was downed.
These "Nasty Guard" aircrews didn't shirk their responsibility. They carried on in the face of outrageous odds. And, due to their sacrifices and the sacrifices of the "Nasty Guard" Infantry divisions (alongside their brothers in the Regular Army), we are not speaking German.
Please don't wish that on folks who have family living on that base. I know you are being sarcastic but it does bug me somewhat to even joke messing up the paint on my sons car. He has already been assaulted once when trying to get on base while these idiots were protesting.

The threat posed by DPRK and the need to pre-empt it, along with Iran, should remain the topmost priority of this country for the next ten years.

Maybe they haven't heard we actually WON THE WAR!....Winning the peace has been a bit more difficult.
As I turn 40 in six months I am honored that you consider me a young people. :)

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is holding a rally in D.C. on March 19. We're waiting for our permit from the Park Service to make the formal announcement.
FRs were there last yr in good numbers, as well as Rolling Thunder and some folks that were just driving by and wanted to stop and help out. FR,s came from VA, MD, SC and FL that I met personally.
I will be there again this year and several NC FRs ( a noisey and active lot!)have plans on attending.
If I can offer a suggestion to the organizers... perhaps we need to contact as many conservative groups as possible for help...and military familiy groups...especially in NC.
If flyers are available I will pay for copies and hand them out all over Fayetteville!...contact me via FReepmail.
Perhaps Sean Hannity may want to show up!!!!!!!!
