Rove to GOP: Don't Grow 'Tired or Timid'
NY Daily News ^ | February 18, 2005 | DEB RIECHMANN

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Karl Rove, President Bush's top political strategist, on Thursday pronounced conservatism the "dominant political creed in America" and coached fellow conservatives on how to support his boss.

"The next time one of your smartypants liberal friends says to you, `Well, he didn't have a mandate,' you tell him of this delicious fact: This president got a higher percentage of the vote than any Democratic candidate for president since 1964," Rove said.

-snip-

Rove told a gathering at the Conservative Political Action Conference that Bush is committed to the members' ideas of fostering morality and values, including protecting the culture of life for every human person - a goal that generated applause from the crowd at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

"Conservatism is the dominant political creed in America," Rove said, adding that more needed to be done.

He also said the administration was committed to spreading democracy across the Middle East and reforming and modernizing Social Security, health care, public education and the tax code.

-snip-

Another member of the Bush administration, Vice President Cheney, dropped by Thursday evening to thank the conservatives for their political support and he promise the administration would continue to pursue consistent economic and foreign policies.

-snip-

Members of Congress are debating whether Social Security taxes for the wealthiest Americans should be increased, but Cheney seemed to suggest that was not an option.

"We cannot tax our way out of this problem," Cheney said to cheers from some of the administration's core supporters at the CPAC meeting. "We must not increase payroll taxes on American workers. Higher taxes would only buy time and then future Congresses would need to come back and raise taxes again and again on our children and grandchildren."

Its going to get very hot. Lurch feels he is the front runner in 2008. He's got blinders on. He doesn't realize the people that came out to vote for him weren't so much voting for him ,just trying to get rid of Bush. It'll be fun seeing him duke it out with Hillary, and whatever other losers they can come up with in 2008!

"A couple of weeks ago, at a private gathering, Karl Rove walked up to a Republican member of Congress who has publicly criticized the Bush amnesty plan, and said, "You know what your problem is? You just don't like all those little brown people coming into the country." "

Do you have a source for that? That does not sound like Rove at all.

Lurch feels he is the front runner in 2008.

For a career politician, Kerry is remarkably clueless about politics, and about the American people, who will never elect him President.

And can you imagine what Lurch is going to look like in 2008?

Hehe, love that little added "smartypants."

Considering the relentless drumbeat of negativity against him, the distortions, outright lies, and constant character assassination directed at him, he did pretty good, and if "we the people" were so mad, why do we keep expanding his party's majority when he's "dragging this country to Hell?" He's got a mandate, and a lot of people got bs'ed into voting against him, the rest are commie weasels of varying degrees.

We have come full circle from the days of.....if it feels good, do it......to do the right thing, even when no one is looking.

The majority of Americans know in their hearts that there is good and evil and right and wrong and are sick and tired of moral equivalence.

Hey Karl, Ronald Reagan knew as much over 40 years ago. What took you so long to catch up?

The Republicans should not relax until the Democrats are thoroughly crushed - that is to say, shattered like the Whigs in the 19th century. It is extremely clear that the Democrat Party is a criminal organisation, as Chicago, the Washington Governor's Race, and the Wisconsin Presidential Race showed.

It would be best for all if they were destroyed - the far left can join the Greens, the centrists form a new party (taking the RINOs with them) and the Republicans as the conservative party.

Regards, Ivan

Still waiting for a source for your Rove quote on post 12. Is that something you just made up? Someone else guessed you got it off of American Patrol.

It's one of the most irresponsible posts I've ever seen on FR.

If you had any character at all you would either document it or ask the moderator to remove it.

I don't support open borders and you've been informed of that in the past.
