Boca manufacturer of penis enlargement pill slapped with lawsuit
New Jersey man says porn stars and doctors convinced him pill would work

A Boca Raton herbal supplement maker that sold penis enlargement pills with “guaranteed results” is being sued in New Jersey court for false advertising.

New Jersey businessman Michael Coluzzi, 35, alleges in the class-action lawsuit that he paid $59.95 for a 30-day supply of the penis pills sold by Alzare LLC but “experienced no increase in penis size” despite a guarantee of three inches within a week.

“It’s a product that just doesn’t work as promised and we want Alzare to stop,” Stephen DeNittis, Coluzzi’s lawyer, told the Boca Raton News on Wednesday. “Some people might ask how anyone could buy something like this, but the ads were very convincing. They almost convinced me and I do a lot of these cases.”

Alzare operatives named in the suit, including chief operating officer Scott Hammond and Tampa gynecologist Dr. Daniel Stein, could not be reached for comment.

Coluzzi reportedly consumed 32 pounds of Alzare penis pills made of ginseng, yohimbe bark, L-arginine and other sexual ingredients. His lawsuit, filed January 21 in Burlington Superior Court, seeks class action status and claims to represent hundreds of thousands of other victims across the country.

According to DeNittis, the company’s campaign included half-hour television infomercials citing fake medical studies claiming that 95 percent of more than 100,000 men experienced 25 percent enlargement within a week of using Alzare. The advertisements featured porn stars and doctors.

“I won’t lie. The two women they used were smoking hot,” DeNittis said. “But the infomercial also had charts and very official-looking statistics.”

A Delray Beach medical expert confirmed this week that there is no way an herbal supplement could ever enlarge a man’s penis, despite Alzare’s claims.

“There’s no supplement out there that will increase the physical size of your biological penis,” Dr. Stephen Silver, a family physician specializing in herbal medicine, told the Boca Raton News.

Dr. Silver said the Alzare pill was at best a “male energy tonic.”

“The best somebody could possibly experience from those ingredients is a good feeling,” Silver said. “Would any of it enlarge your penis? Absolutely not. Even with an energy tonic, you can never give a guarantee with herbal supplements because they don’t have the potency of pharmaceutical drugs. No respectable medical doctor would give one.”

Silver practices integrated medicine, a combination of traditional medicine and holistic cures. He added, “Supplements do have a place in healthcare, but companies like this one give them a bad rap.”

Rob Gordon, director of the non-profit American Health Association (AHA) in Boca, said a man’s lifestyle choices make the most difference in the health of his penis.

“If you don’t smoke, have moderate drinking habits, avoid meat and otherwise keep your circulation good, you could experience some enlargement,” said Gordon, whose charity promotes new age and herbal medicine.

Gordon added that Coluzzi should have known better, as penis pills are obviously a fraud, and said he did not see why men should be legally compensated for wasting $60.

“It’s laughable that Americans are so gullible. You can’t buy your way around mother nature.”

According to Reuters, the Colluzzi lawsuit is at least the third against penis pill makers in the last two years. Two cases filed last year in Colorado and Ohio accused the manufacturers of VigRx and Enzyte of similar scams, and also sought class action status.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest has filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against the manufacturer of Enzyte.

Aren't you a little sick of all the spam?

For that reason, if nothing else, I applaud the guy for his efforts.

Right on. And I hope the penis-pill spammers get slapped with a stiff penalty.

Indeed. That's a pound a day, if the "bought a thirty-day supply" claim is correct. I couldn't eat that many M&M's in a month, and I love M&M's!

"I don't know how these scam artists were planning on getting away w/it."
Easily: who would confess in public that he needed their stuff to begin with? Yohimba extract (yohimbin) has been long known to be a bona fide male stimulant; but this article says that the guy got a 30 days supply for $60 - and then that he consumed 32 POUNDS!!

The best "before" and "after" pictures were made by Aubrey Beardsley as illustrations to "Lysistrata" about 100 years ago.
