The drug-induced version is a joke. It requires constant monitoring to make sure they're actually taking it. These predators don't ever get well. Endless research has shown it's a permanent brain defect. The "treatment" needs to be of the permanent, surgical variety.

This really needs further research,although it may help some situations. In the cases of rape, very often, the issue is violence, not a sexual issue. there have been situations where the sex offenders themselves have requested chemical treatment to reduce sexual urges. Better monitoring of released offenders is still paramount as rehabilitation has such an incredibly poor prognosis.

WTF they shouldn't get the option of castration. If someone is convicted of molesting a child they should be hanged. To do otherwise is to condemn yet more children to these tragedies.

I can understand this for those with previous offenses, but aren't the ones who are extremely cruel and/or injure their victims the ones least likely to be actually motivated by their sex drives?
