Please let me know where you live and I will notify to police about the armed gunmen in your home that refuse to let you either turn the channel or turn your TV off.

I honestly don't understand why people like you go through all the trouble to sign up for an account on a conservative activists' forum, just so you can post comments dismissing and trivializing any objections to crap like this being injected into our culture with increasing frequency.

Yes, the Simpsons is just a cartoon, and I would not personally bother to make this show my battleground, but if some more motivated FReepers out there want to get the word out with the chance that they may have a positive influence on the entertainment industry, I say more power to them. That's what the culture war is all about. I would rather see that than someone on this site demanding that everyone shut up and take it.

As an aside, I stopped watching the Simpsons years ago, after being a long time fan, because their political satire became more and more humorless until it has become almost a straight list of talking points, and not the kind of talking points that I like.

A better way to have a positive influence on the entertainment industry would be to create some positive entertainment as opposed to trying to control what others are producing or seeing. This sort of thing makes conservatives look reactionary. The Simpsons is the last place to make an argument about bad TV.

If you haven't watched "in years", how do you know what their "talking points" are?

The mockery and belittling that President Clinton received on The Simpson's was some of the must brutal on television.

Various groups have been protesting the Simpsons for almost 10 years. Guess what, other than getting more donations and PR for those doing the protesting, nothing has changed on the Simpsons because of the protests.
Also, there are much worse programs that air on Fox Broadcast - why not go after them?
btw, who made you the arbiter of what is or isn't conservative? I would like to see a copy of your check list if you do not mind so I can rate myself.

This is my favorite type of post at FR. Someone complaining about virtures, etc., on TV...using words like "CRAP". A wonderful example of conservative discourse.

Fee:
Thank you for your comments. I don't watch the show, but lik you said, people should be more concerned about what passes for "entertainment" these days.
