Does a "Gay Gene" Really Exist?
CFP ^ | February 17, 2005 | Nathan Tabor

"Wonderful Husband. Loving Father. Former Homosexual. Jesus Christ Changes Lives."

So read the billboards sponsored by Stephen Bennett, the head of a Christian family advocacy group based in Huntingdon, Connecticut. The ad, part of a nationwide campaign last year opposed to same-sex marriage, features a large photo of Bennett with his lovely wife and two children.

Some advertising companies refused to accept Bennett’s ads because of their "controversial content." Wherever the ads were posted, gay rights activists rose up in anger to protest the very idea that homosexuals can change, or even should want to.

But Bennett is one of thousands of practicing homosexuals who has reversed his sexual orientation and found fulfillment in heterosexual marriage. His message is simple: unhappy gays do have hope because real change is possible.

Why do the radical gay activists resent Bennett’s message so much? Because it clearly refutes the urban myth they have so carefully crafted: the lie that about 10 percent of the population is "born gay" and simply can’t help it. Many today are being taught to believe that homosexuality is a genetic condition, like skin or eye color. This deception has been nurtured over the years by the pro-homosexual major media. But like other urban myths, this is a lie. (To learn more about how this myth got started, go to http://www.narth.com/docs/istheregene.html ) . . . . .

I suspect that there are both types of homosexuality, some hereditary and some by choice or environment. I had a friend who told me that she suspected that her five year old son was going to be gay. She said that she could just tell by his behavior. A while later, I met her ex-husband who had been physically abusive and told her that it was no wonder he left her, he's Gay. She knew that her son was going to be Gay, but didn't know that her husband was Gay. A few years later, she wrote me and told me that I was right, that he had admitted it.

Then there is that article that was posted on FreeRepublic about a month ago, about the study that showed that over forty percent of homosexuals claimed to have been sexually abused by an older male before the age of fourteen. That's definitely an environmental influence. Then there is the just plain choice group. Lesbianism is becoming cool in some ultra liberal groups and that is definitely just a life style choice. I can't tell you how many men that we have run into that live double lives, married but Gay. I guess they can't make up their minds.

I worked with a guy who used to swear he was Born gay-- he'd
get so mad at me he'd leave work -because I refused to believe his choice of lifestyle was beyond his control.
Funny thing is after seeing enough of his lovers reap the
rewards of that error and die from AIDs he finally got
religion and did change. I've known several like that.
And I followed the controversy over John Paulk -who also also left that lifestyle.

I found that all of them exhibited some sort of personality disorder totally separate and distinct from whatever sexual practices they indulged in.

Does a "Gay Gene" Really Exist?

Yes but it can't procreate and is forbidden to marry another gay gene.

Behavior Mod 101 rule of thumb -one generally gets more of those behaviors that are rewarded-or given more attention and less of those behaviors that are given negative reward or ignored. All the attention of sexual behavior is bound to cause an increase in experimentation. I knew a guy once who insisted his hand was the best sex he ever had --but
I notice he never went gay.Or at least seemed to have a lot of women hanging on him.

Ya since they don't reproduce they would be like neutered dogs and cats and the society would be rid of them, but of coarse they know it is a life style choice and not genetic otherwise why go to all the trouble of all the propaganda and marketing techniques in the schools to get more girls and boys to switch over to the "SAD" life style (oh sorry) "gay" life style.

The God of the Cult of the Mutant Monkey, Charles Darwin, born Feb. 12, explains that homosexuality can not be a trait that is "selected" by the gene pool.

If a trait 'gene' is beneficial in some way; it makes the progeny more likely to survive until reproduction or makes the progeny more successful in reproduction or the progeny bears more viable offspring itself, then the trait is selected by the gene pool and we see more individuals with that particular trait 'gene' over time.
If a trait makes the progeny less likely to survive to the age of reproduction, then having that trait makes the individuals with the trait less likely to pass it to the next generation. That type of trait is not selected by the gene pool and acquiring the mutation that makes one less likely to reproduce is the same kind of trait. If a gene causes the owner of the gene to become non-reproductive, the gene isn't passed to the progeny. We would see less and less of that trait.
Homosexuality will never be identified with any gene.
Finding it will DISPROVE Darwin's Theory of Evolution, and the discoverer will have to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Genetics.
You can Quote me on this! derdag aka. Dr.D.A.G.
