Oviously, Bubba is not related to Harley Sorenson.

Bubba's latest work is finished on The Rock. There is a beautiful photo of it and Bubba painting it in today's online version of the Des Moines Register. I do not know how to post it and don't know if it's even legal to post it.

Thanks for this post, regardless of how you did it!

The rock is not the property of the artist, and stands on land not owned by him. He is acknowledged here as the artist on this thread, and his website is provided in my first post [
Freedom*Rock ( In Rural Iowa ) ] My best advice to you is for you to close your Black's Law dictionary, and enjoy the wholesome American patriotism emanating from within the artist......if you can do that.
If you've got a problem with a selfless act of patriotism which motivated this young American artist, there isn't anything most anybody else can do about that.
God bless Ray "Bubba" Sorensen!!! His appreciation for the sacrifice our men and women in our armed forces are making for our beloved country is greatly admired and worthy of praise from anyone who loves our country.

I wish I could have seen all the pics. After the first few, my screen got all blurry.
Thanks for posting them on this weekend to remember.

No National Endowment for the Arts funding for Mr. Sorensen? How can that be? Sadly, if he peed on the rock there would be funding.
He and his creation are wonderful.

I knew there had to be something better to visit out west other than the largest ball of twine - and yes, I've been there.

That's great! Good Memorial Weekend post. In the first picture, I thought a flag was actually draped on the rock.

Y'all have to check this out. Ordinarily, as far as graffiti goes my attitude is "Not so much," but I can get behind this.
