On of the best things about Free Republic is that on one thread you can agree, then the next one you don't, then you can congratulate the person on the thread that you do not agree with on the soon to be arrive of a new baby, and all is forgiven.

The ONLY thing wrong IMHO is when it gets personal and ugly. You have some FReepers, the fringe element ;-), that can't get a thought out of their heads without name calling, etc..
That's ok though because the mods keep them in check (somewhat) and they're just the fringe element anyway.

There is nothing wrong with diversity of opinions.Not at all. However, Sean's observation is that this is happening less and less on FreeRepublic. When he said that some FReepers have gotten so that they, "even eat their own" I think he has a valid point. I've seen it happen.
