I prefer Firefox, and I've not experienced any of the problems mentioned. It starts up fine, and it stops almost all spyware, and I just find it a pleasure to use.

IE dipped below 90 percent
Give me a break.. Netscape owned the market for a while, then IE came out embedded in the OS - thats why they took over. If they are still just under 90% they should be jumping for joy.
If IE7 is good, i will use it. But right now i use firefox for the speed. IE just slows down the internet for me.

I do like Firefox :) I use it here at Work on my Sun box, at home on my Mac (Mac OSX and Linux). An additional item, it blocks pop-up ads and for banner ads, right click your mouse over the ad and tell it to block images especially from sites like doubleclick.net.

No matter what they do to IE I will never use it again. MS was wayyyy to slow in addressing the issues. For that alone they can stuff IE.

IE7 beta is due sometime this summer.
Meaning, a final release won't happen until fall at the earliest. We'll have Firefox 1.1, and possibly 1.2 then.

LOL ok..
As long as they control the OS market, they are going up up up. You think some company is going to come by and just create some awsome OS thats going to take windows? They tried, and they are trying. They give them away for free (windows based linux systems) and they do nothing. So lets think about this.. windows based FREE OS vs $100-$200.00 OS.. and the free types just bomb.
MS will own this market for a very very long time. As they buy up more companies (virus, spyare, etc) and spread into new forms of the market (i.e Microsoft Home) it will only grow.

I tried Firefox for awhile but there were websites it couldn't support. Now I'm with Netscape but don't like it either. I'm waiting for IE 7 too.
To: decimon
You'd have to pay me (and purchase a new computer as well) to get me to use IE ever again. Since i moved to FireFox i have not experienced ONE spyware or such. I even thought my anti-spyware programs were not working or something. With IE there was always a case of spyware-flu, even though i am one of the more paranoid internet users out there! I just couldn't avoid the stuff with IE.
So, if IE7 is what they claim it is then good for them. But one thing i know for sure is i will not even download the sucker let alone use it.

Firefox is ...a chore sometimes, what with most sites using that pesky nonstandard IE code. Not everything renders properly, and some sites just plain don't work--I have to load up IE to use them. ....I don't want to learn something completely new. There y'go.
Avant Browser does it for me.

Tried the Fox, came back to IE.
I think she has a point, but there will always be some who think outside of MS and carry it like a Roman Shield of defiance.
That won't be going away, ever......

Opera user here. I never had a single problem that this author talked about when switching over.
Here's a question, though. If M$ is releasing a "stand alone" browser, does that mean it's not embedded in the OS? What will happen to M$ defense strategy?
