What if they cancelled a season and nobody cared?

I thought that just happened.

Now is the time for someone to start up a more violent alternative league

If bored, check out Major League Soccer's website

I'll never be that bored.

I plan to come on FR threads and comment on sports I know nothing about and tell everyone who DOES care how much I don't care.

Ping.

Not like this is really shocking or even really news. I was surprised that the NHLPA accepted the cap and from news reports I have seen so were most of the players!

But I would have been more surprised if they had actually played this year.

I'm really glad we will get to have Kari Lehtonen for the rest of the AHL season. I cannot wait to see him in the playoffs.

What's Hockey?

I think that is a so-called sport that starts out as a fight and the ref throws down a thing called a puck. That is when the game is supposed to start - I think. Could be wrong.

Sounds like a NASCAR fan.

Somewhat, but just being funny. I have always been an avid sports freak, but I grew up in Texas, and hockey wasn't exactly the stuff the 8 year old Texas boys strived for.

I've lost a lot of interest in Baseball since the strikes, and the gangsta mentality in Basketball is wearing on me. I'll stick with it as long as the likes of Tim Duncan and hopefully (seems like a good kid so far) LeBron James are around.

Football and Golf, and some Nascar keep me going.

Q: How do you spell NHLPA?

A: PATCO

I'm tempted to toss every bit of NHL stuff I have and say screw them...

I almost tossed my Hartford Whalers sweats this past weekend. But only because they have a hole in them.

Baseball recovered.

These idiots will do the same.

Just another sport I will not follow.

I place most of the blame on the owners, mainly because the Gary Bettman era has been a disaster for hard-core hockey fans right from the very start.

I'm not the kind of fan who is going to turn my back on the NHL over this like I did with baseball (mainly because I understand this dispute from both sides), but I would gladly support any new professional hockey league whose first order of business was to hire Wayne Gretzky or Ken Dryden as commissioner.

There is still boxing and UFC.

And I should care because, after all there is the professional curling league, and professional wrestling to make up the difference?

Why would I, or you, or anybody want to assume that the owners (who had a massive millions of dollars war chest for this lockout) were on the up-and-up about their finances?

Good guys? Not.

I think that is where two teams fight on the ice with long sticks....there is a small vulcanized rubber disc involved but no one seems to know why.

The disc is what they are fighting over.

At least the players are all in Europe and Russia making mucho bucks :^)

And as the NHL is about to find out, they are going to have a much tougher time keeping the world's best players in the NHL even when they do come back.
