Large blast heard near City of Dailam. Iran TV says fired from unknown aircraft.
No other details.

They do. They sore fuel in the wings inside bladders called wet wings. Typically only military jets have "drop tanks." So called because they can be attached to extend the aircraft's range but when going in to combat they can be released or "dropped" from the aircraft so that it can resume it's top speed and turning potential.
Sky News now quoting Iranian TV saying that they likely had a "friendly-fire" incident.
Revolutionary guards deny everything:

No falling fuel tank
So sadly true.
Fighters can be configured with drop tanks.
An Interior Ministery spokesman said "friendly fire" may have been the cause.
"We have no reason to say it's a hostile attack," he said.
"There is a big possibility that it was a friendly fire by mistake.
"Several such mistaken friendly fire has been reported there in recent days."

Me too. There would've been a hell of alot more bombs and simultaneous targets struck all at once whether it was Israel, or any of the other good guys.

All you former Air Force Pilots.... Would a falling fuel tank make this kind of "large explosion?" If friendly fire ignited the tank and then dropped by the pilot, would it look like a missle?

The F-22 Raptor isn't in service yet, still has a few more years of testing to go, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the US wouldn't want to put it on a combat run to see how it would perform.
