The first fines should be to the Cialis and La Vitra Commercials since the babe on the la vitra commercial seems more like a whore than a wife.

Another group are the queer eye and other Homosexual driven shows, pure Filth.

Good freaking grief... does the U.S. house of Representatives (and the people of this country) lack familiarily with how to operate a REMOTE?

Note - the remote has this thing, usually labelled "CH" or "CHAN" - this part is used to change the channel if you do not like the show on the current channel. For radios, it usually is a tuning dial that goes either way.

There is one other feature on said remote: Usually labelled "ON/OFF" - this turns the offending TV or radio off. If there is not a remote handy, one can WALK OVER to the TV or radio and change the channel/station or turn it off. HOW FREAKIN' HARD IS IT TO DO THAT?

Nobody holds a gun to your head and MAKES you watch stuff. Pople decide if they want to watch it or not. If there is such a case, perhaps the many Freepers here can show me.

Thus endeth my comments.

Ted Kennedy saw that commercial and wanted to know why he wasn't invited to the hearing.

"Ted Kennedy saw that commercial and wanted to know why he wasn't invited to the hearing."

I agree with Kennedy. I don't think ANY politician knows more about indecency that he does.

I agree with you. The only caveat I have is that audiences should be spared unexpected indecency. Everyone who tunes into South Park knows what they're getting into.

People watching the Super Bowl halftime aren't expecting a topless dancer.

Well, when you don't have any warning before something offensive is shown, you can't use the remote.

I am for fines on live offenses that occur during family time (i.e. Janet Jackson at the Superbowl).

Live programming should be held to higher standards than taped programs, which can air a warning prior to broadcast.

I think you don't have children yet, or you would see why some programs are a problem.

Unfortunatly, Mike Rogers cosponsored it. I like Rogers, but don't agree with him here AT ALL.

Bipartisan cosponsor list, so both parties are to blame here.

This is a nation of the people, for the people and by the people.

Nothing that happens in our nation is the result of principle or law. This nation does what its voters want done. Nothing else matters.

If the voters want blacks to be considered less then human, the supreme court will rule as it did in Dred Scott. If the voters want equality then Roe Vs Wade will be the ruling.

If enough voters want to ban smoking, it will be banned. If enough voters want TV regulated for sexual content.. it will be.

It is easy to explain. In the United States the people Rule.
