Euphoric after a big election victory, the organizers of this year's Conservative Political Action Conference say it's only fitting to pay tribute to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth for helping to stop Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid.
Former Georgia Sen. Zell Miller, the Democrat credited with giving one of the most memorable speeches in favor of President Bush at the Republican National Convention this summer, will present the award to Adm. Roy Hoffman (Ret.), founder and chairman of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
"For a second time, the Swift Boat Veterans stepped up to serve their country honorably and courageously by telling the truth about John Kerry's tour of duty in Vietnam," said ACU President David Keene. "Despite vilification, character assassination and the hostility of the elite media, these veterans dared to tell a side of the story that the American people otherwise would not have heard."

"Viet Nam Vets, in the eyes of some, are useless now. "

Maybe, but "eyes of some" are not your FReeper FRiends. And you, Tonk, have a WHOLE HEAP of FRiends here!! We know the drum you beat and we stand behind you 100%
Don't ever give up! And recall - even Jim Robinson gave you the thumbs up about your work here not so long ago.
"Your thanks should not only be going out to the Swifties, but to all US veterans from Vietnam, the Vietnam era and subsequent years (Cold War, Gulf War, etc.) who stood up for our country once more to defeat this turncoat's election bid to become the leader of this great Nation."
But Darlin, I have tried to thank the people who are my Hero's. And they are this countries Officers of Law, who put their lives on the line to protect our families each and everyday. They are our Firemen, who run into burning buildings to save a life. And they are all those who have, or are serving in our Armed Services. Without them and their sacrifices we would have no freedom. Our very lives depend on all of these, my Hero's.
The only thing is, I tried to thank them in my own way. I wrote a song back in 2003 called: "Some Stand Tall" It's dedicated to all of them. You can download a copy and see that I tried my best not only to thank them but to tell them what I think of them. It's here: http://www.music.download.com/gloriajane

That is NOT what this about.
Thank God for the Swift Vets and God bless all of our Vets.
Thanks for the ping!
Sorry, if I misunderstood what Colt .45 meant when he posted to me.
I thought I was being told that I should value all those who have served in our armed services. And I just tried to point out that I do.
