Oh stop. :-) The film industry is far and away California's biggest of any kind. Why shouldn't the state's chief executive be on good terms with it.

Cali's largest industries are motion pictures and agriculture. Motion pictures are also a successful export product that has little competition, even in India.

American films and TV shows are how most of the world learns about us, what we are like, what life is like here. Dont laugh. Think of people getting glimpses of life in America when they live in terrible countries. Its little things we dont even think of that they notice. The grocery store in the background being well stocked. Stuff like that. Images are powerful. Despite all the trash Hollwood produces. Not all of it is bad.
