ANNAPOLIS, Md. The daughter of conservative Republican Alan Keyes (search) referred to herself Monday as a "liberal queer" and urged support for gay and lesbian young people who have been deserted by their families.

how long till she has a book deal
WHY are we NOT surprised?
Deserted is a pretty harsh word.... jeez, Mommy and daddy won't pay for my college.. I've been deserted....
or at least a spread in Playboy.....
On the one hand, they use "nature" to "prove" "gay is right"
But
They deny that "nature" also abandons it's "defective young"...
All people are sinners. Sometimes, I just don't understand Alan Keyes. I once had a lot of respect for him, now I just have some respect for him.
Queer today straight tomorrow, she is only 19....is this correct? I know many women who were somewhat CONFUSED in their early years.
Keyes said: "My daughter is an adult, and she is responsible for her own actions. What she chooses to do has nothing to do with my work or political activities."
He is right!
But that won't stop the gay community from exploiting her in the months to come. She is still very young and vulnerable. She will become even more lost. Sad.
Could she be fishing for handouts? --the radical's dirty little secret.
True, true, true and true. They Keyes' did the right and loving thing by cutting off the money from home.
Via WorldNetDaily.com: Keyes created a national stir last August after a radio interview in which he expressed support for a proposed amendment to the Constitution to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. "The essence of ... family life remains procreation," he explained. "If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it's possible to have a marriage state that in principle excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism."
Keyes is a bit of a crackpot, but be careful judging what Keyes actually said about Mary Cheney from this statement. It removes all sense of context. I think if you heard the full scoop you'd be bothered more by this story's interpretation than by what he said.
That this brat would appear on CNN is despicable.
"Like me, he grew up queer in a conservative household," she said. But where she got hundreds of e-mails, offers of a place to stay and a college scholarship, "he'd been out there two years and had gotten nothing."
"And the worst part is, he isn't the only one," Marcel-Keyes said.
This is the most telling part of this whole things. Ms. Keyes has been offered college scholarships, etc. from these "liberal queers" to buy her name and family connects to make conservatives look bad.
Someone should tell her that the real reason her friend didn't receive such perks is because he couldn't be used as some kind of poster child to produce a lot of negative publicity against conservatives.
Hey, let's face it, Mr. Keyes is no "trip to Paris" and neither is his daughter.
Next!
According to the others articles posted on FR on this subject Alan Keyes has refused all contact with his daughter and refuses to even speak to her. Funny how this didn't bother him when she was working on his campaign.
This doesn't sound like a move based of morality, it sounds like a move based on politics.
Mis-characterization. Keyes was asked about Mary Cheney specifically, and only pointed out that consistency demanded that chldren of prominent politicians shouldn't be treated differently -- kind of ironic how it turns around on him, but there's only so much a parent can do, in the end.
