V A N I T Y - Beware of Subversion
The dark recesses of a demented mind..... | 02/17/2005 | Trident/Delta

Posted on 02/15/2005 7:40:38 AM PST by Trident/Delta

I once again come out of a self-imposed exile to observe that in the most recent past, there have been an extraordinary number of posts that seem to be focused at the erosion of Free Republic. From exhortations about US immigration and border policies to whether or not "polls" were fair and worded appropriately.

I am once again reminded that there are those that would prefer that Free Republic would just go away. Not only the DU retards that seem to spend most of their time dreaming up colorful ways of using obscenity in a mixed metaphor environment, and applying "cutey-pie" avatar graphics, but also the MSM pundits that troll the postings at FR for juicy tid-bits that they can steal as their own work. There is also those that seem to feel that it is thier mission in life to change the direction, tone and tenor of this forum to somehting in the Libertarian bent. Personally, I view FR as a "blog" of sorts, open to divergent points of view, sometimes irreverent, but, always for the good of America.

So, I guess that this missive is directed at those that feel the necessity to post some inane rambling at every opportunity, or to weigh-in constantly and attempt to subvert every issue to some hidden agenda. You should be aware that there are a LOT of people that just lurk, and, that this "facility" is the property of one Jim Robinson. It is not a "public" convenience, it is something that has been developed and nurtured by Mr Robinson and his supporters. I, for one, am sick and tired of these idiots that go off and seem to think that they have some "right" to say whatever they want, and to then have rightous indignation when they are "beebed", "stuned", "Moosed" or "zotted" by Mods.

To those that read these words and are ready to go off on me for violating the "No vanities" rule, please feel free. If the Mods wish to banish me, so be it. The bottom line is that it is JR's board and it is in his purview to do what he pleases on it.

In closing I am going to say that I am quite aware of concerted efforts on the part of many "competitive" groups, both right and left, that are doing everything in their power to discredit this forum. So, when you read some screed about how unfair or biased FR is, you should really consider the source, and dismiss those subversives as you would any inconvience or tiresome bore.

I now return to the magical world of "Lurk" and return you to your regularly scheduled program. Thank you for your time and patience.

I don't think you understand whta I am saying. I ahve no fault with typical posts. The ones that I have exception with are the blatant "left" posts and the subsequent "usual suspects" doing their best to insure that ANYONE who posts there understand that their viewpoint is the ONLY one. That is what my rant is about.

Can you provide specific examples of what you mean?

What confuses me is in the 2nd sentence of your vanity: "From exhortations about US immigration and border policies to whether or not 'polls' were fair and worded appropriately." Are you saying it's wrong to discuss such things, and if so, why?

I you had read the posts to which I refer you would understand the rant. There was a contraversial thread where one Freeper group was flaming another on both subjects
