Good, its about time to remodel his house again and it will cost more this time since his labor costs will be higher.

That was the contractors responsibilty not Tancredos.
Listen up Ben. I'm in construction, and I've seen conractors UNKNOWINGLY use subs who used illegal aliens.
It is not the homeowners responsibilty to do a search on the legal status of the contractors employers.
Not only is it NOT the homeowners responsiblity, they don't even have the capacity to do it.

It's like checking the ID of every person who works in a resturaunt before ordering a meal. It just doesn't happen.
In Tancredos case it is even more suspicious. After all the illegal employees immediately ran to the nearest newspaper with their story.

"After all the illegal employees immediately ran to the nearest newspaper with their story."============================================
And of course the newspaper didn't turn them in for being 'illegal' workers.
Do you think the workers may have been 'inspired' to go to the media - especially since most of them try and not bring a lot of attention to themselves and don't want the hassle of having to reenter the country a week later?

Oh, please. Tom Tancredo? I don't think he's a good choice, personally.

Can't wait for the "Viva Tancredo!" bumper stickers.

What other Republican out there is standing up against the illegal migrant invasion?
This will be *THE* issue of 2008.

Yeah it is. Now that you brought it up, I have been called here at FR...
1)"Racist" (First wife was hispanic....current business partner
in the USA, Art Pietro Flores.
2) "Bush hater"...I voted for him twice.
3) "You obviously supported Kerry".......I would sooner cut my own throat.
4)" You are gonna vote for Hillary, anyway" Uh huh.... see my 12000 + posts, moron: )
Truth to tell, I have been called more names on FR immigration threads than by liberals in everyday life: )

Lets compare that to other stipulations a buyer such as Tancredo would make.
Do you think Tom asked for an insurance certificate? That would be more trouble for the prime or the sub than certifying that the workers had SS numbers.
Buyers frequently require union labor. Bidders usually specify in the proposal as to whether the workers are union or not. How much trouble would it be to specify the citizenship status?
The buyer knows the job will cost more with union labor vs non-union. The buyer knows the job will cost less with illegal vs legal labor.
Do you think that a man who plays dumb on an issue such as this is qualified to be a House member?

Apparently the people of Colorado do and have again and again.

Don't fall in love with Tom. Find some Governor. Whens the last time a sitting Congressman got elected President? He ought to run for Gov. of Colorado and show he's got some administrative skills, and do well, before anyone should take him seriously.
To: cripplecreek
You said in #30 that Tancredo would have no way of knowing the legal status of the workers.
I have shown you that Tancredo would know much about those workers.
Address that.
