Got to hand it to her for a mother of 4 children.

She was quite impressive during the Presidential campaign. She was used in the last few months on tv. I saw her on Today show, ABC and Fox and she was fantastic.

Elizabeth Cheney appears to be rising star. Here's a WaPo story on her earlier job that she did quite well in.

She must have Condi's trust.

Great news! Elizabeth Cheney is a very impressive woman. This will drive the liberal wackos up a tree!

Hard to imagine that this is based on merit.

Kudos to Liz. She was great during the last few months of the Presidential campaign, making numerous media appearances on behalf of the Bush/Cheney campaign.

Ranger, you're kidding, right?
Liz is fabulous...a possible future contender for first woman Pres or Veep.

Hate to be a party-pooper, but doesn't she have young children? Seems like a pretty time-intensive job for a mother of young kids. It may be non-PC to say it, but kids with absentee parents often end up with some serious mental/emotional problems. But I guess motherhood is not nearly as important as a high-profile job, eh?

Hard to imagine that this is based on merit. That's because you know nothing about her, isn't it?

Its the state department. They require the air they breath to be politically correct.
Sec. Rice may seem to be good but the institution below is quite often (iow regularly) at odds with GWBush and anything conservative.

But I guess motherhood is not nearly as important as a high-profile job, eh?I agree with you, and I go as far as all women in government, no matter what party. But since it's here, best to choose the best to do it. (I have to admit, my wife is better at multi-tasking than I, but that could just me)

You would be most naive if you thought it was based on merit.

Why? On what basis or are you being sarcastic?

She didn't turn out bad herself did she and her mother has always worked? The main thing is that the child knows that they are loved when the parents are there you can have parents around all time but the loving is not there. The Cheneys are close to their children and grandchildren and it is obvious that the Perry family are close and loving. Liz is a highly intelligent lady who needs this stimulation she would be discontented and under fulfilled and therefore not a good parent if she was with her children 24/7.
