Awesome! Thanks. As a new homeowner in Balmur and recent Va. transplant, I'm looking forward to following Md. politics more. O'Malley is quite the character. I can't wait till Ehrlich defeats him next year.

I can't wait till Ehrlich defeats him next year.

Don't hold your breath.

He took the no-win job as Mayor for Statewide exposure and it worked. But he, like Glendenning, fell for the Kennedy family line of "...help us, we'll help you." and didn't run in the Demo primary against the never electable KKT.

Big city Mayor is a losing proposition if you're in it too long and unless you get lucky like Guilliani, MO'M didn't get lucky. Corrupt Top Cops, high murder rate, washboard streets, etc.

His Kennedy adventure set him against the old line Dems (Schafer)and it now looks like Duncan of Montgomery Co. has it locked up. The two Washington adjoining counties plus Howard Co. have more votes than the rest of the State and Duncan has a lock on them.

Maybe the Kennedy help will be for a Congressional or Senate seat, but I don't see any upcoming openings.

Like all politicians, there's three or four Martin O'Malleys: the regular guy you meet in down time, the rock entertainer, the power pimp, the dogmatic reformer, the Daddy, the lawyer, etc. And like them all, there's a time and tide that must be capitalized on and he missed it.
