When I can't legally transport my firearms to the shooting range, I would have no issue with moving to a state where I can.
I wonder what new anti-gun law will be the straw that starts to send law respecting gun owners out of California?
And, I wonder if this might eventually have a measurable impact on my state's economy.
(Don't know, of course, just wondering.)
Anti-gun laws, high disability insurance rates, high utility costs and high rents are driving lots of people and businesses elsewhere. The company parking lot in San Diego was overflowing to two satellite lots in 1999. By 2001, the two satellite lots were no longer in use and the main lot was under 25% utilized. Many of the contracts serviced by San Diego based employees were moved to other states where the cost of doing business was considerably lower.
I do exactly the same work from my home office in Idaho that I did from my company provided office in San Diego. Since I provide my own office, the company charges "off site" rates for my labor. That makes me a more competitive provider of services than someone working from an office in San Diego. My pay is the same as San Diego, so I can live very comfortably with the lower cost of living in Idaho. My mortgage is paid off. I'm using the extra money to acquire investment properties. I just bought a 2000 sq ft home on 1/4 acre with my federal/state income tax refund as the only cash out of pocket.
Concealed carry permits are easy to get in Idaho. You can purchase pretty much anything you want including Class III with the appropriate approvals. My outdoor range charges $35/year for unlimited use. It is a 3 mile drive from the house.
you better get out before it's illegal to transport your firearm out of the country -- ahem -- state
