One more piece of the fact puzzle; Jeb did not act simply under his executive authority to "pardon" as you stated it. The FL Legislature passed an emergency law to save Terri's life, and Jeb signed it. Then under that law, he acted to restore her feeding tube and rehydrate her. Schiavo and attorney challenged the constitutionality of the law under the FL Constitution, and the FL Supreme Court overturned the law by declaring it unconstitutional. Jeb appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court and was denied a hearing.

Speech therapy would also include swallowing. It's a speech therapist who helps a stroke victim to regain the ability to swallow. If Terry had speech therapy she would be off of the feeding tube.

That sounds like the humane thing to do, but I guess I am old fashioned. We must trust the courts in these matters. /

...how can a judge overturn this stay of execution for Terri?

Aye, therein lies the rub. This is why many are calling for the impeachment of this judge. His decisions have been suspect from the get go.

Exactly....I can't believe how Fla throughout Michael's fight to kill Terri legally continues to side with this creep. If she's allowed to die....Michael should be very concerned 'bout the hereafter. He's nothing more than a killer.

snippets from EXPERT TESTIMONY... (Sara Green Mele, MS, CCC-SLP -Speech Pathologist)
7. Over the years since her injury, Terri has infrequently spoken audible words. The records of MediPlex reflect the fact that she has said "stop" in apparent response to a medical procedure being done to her. The family reports that they have heard Terri say "ugh-hugh," ugh-ugh," and "No" on a few occasions.

8. Since the time of the medical evidentiary hearing in October of 2002, family members have made a concerted effort to encourage Terri to vocalize, and have attempted, as laypersons, to coach her in basic speech.

Most prominently, they have coached Terri in trying to say "yea", as a way in which she may answer "yes" to questions. The family has an audiotape recorded in November of 2002 in which Terri vocalizes in apparent response to her father. Her vocalizations include repeated sounds which approximate the word "yeah," in the same manner in which she was coached. Prior to that time, no member of her family recalls Terri being able to approximate the "yeah" sound. I cannot conclude that Terri can accurately answer a yes/no question without the therapy suggested below.

9. The apparent addition of an approximation of the word "yeah" to Terri's repertoire of responses is clearly a learned behavior. Her use of this sound on the audiotape is apparently in response to her father. It is reasonable to conclude that Terri is trying, despite her motor deficits, to speak as best she can. Terri is clearly a suitable candidate for speech-language therapy.

10. It is not my opinion that Mrs. Schiavo is in a coma or in a persistent vegetative state. In my opinion, she exhibits purposeful though inconsistent reactions to her environment, particularly her family. Her eye movements, easily observed on the videotape, are particularly suggestive that she recognized family members and responded. She also appeared to have sufficient sustained attention to track a balloon. It is not my opinion that these behaviors are merely reflexive. The entire range of behaviors listed above, and each and every one of them, are inconsistent with a diagnosis of persistent vegetative state.

11. Even without the benefit of any medical treatment which successfully improves this patient's organic medical condition or cognitive abilities, in my opinion Terri would benefit from speech-language therapy, physical therapy and occupational/recreational therapy. Her ability to interact with her environment and her ability to communicate can be enhanced. Her quality of life can be significantly enhanced

Not only that, but he made her suffer as much as possible for all these years. One example:

Jan Craddock, dentist :
"Those five teeth were apparently already causing problems," he said. "That's why the oral surgeon extracted them – because they were either infected, the supporting tissues were infected, or they were so badly broken down that they couldn't be fixed. It's not a matter of nonuse."...

Yet according to her medical records, Terri has not had any dental work since at least 1996, despite pleadings by the Schindlers.

It looks like everyone is lying except Michael.-----------------------------------------------------------

BEFORE ME the undersigned authority personally appeared CARLA SAUER IYER, R.N., who being first duly sworn, deposes and says:

" Terri’s medical condition was systematically distorted and misrepresented. When I worked with her, she was alert and oriented. Terri spoke on a regular basis while in my presence, saying such things as “mommy,” and “help me.” “Help me” was, in fact, one of her most frequent utterances. I heard her say it hundreds of times.

Terri would try to say the word “pain” when she was in discomfort, but it came out more like “pay.” She didn’t say the “n” sound very well. " CIyerAffidavit

This boy is seriously messed up in the head.

Yet he seems to be a very popular and even sympathetic "public figure" in Pinellas Co., FL!

The liberal Schiavo may think the "hereafter" is a "conservative myth."

Apparently the office of governor of FL is a very weak one institutionally. This was also said of the TX governorship under George W. Bush.

I said that badly. I was actually thinking about Arnold not granting a stay to the guy in Calif. Then I was trying to equate it with that judge. Oops :(

Well we shouldn't be powerless to stop it. There is the provision for impeachment in Florida "if" the legislature has the guts or whichever body part is needed to take such a bold step! While they're at it, they need to repeal the portion of the statute which includes feeding tubes as life support. Thousands of fully functioning people (for the most part)rely on them on a daily basis. We have statutes which declare it a felony to deny an elderly or disabled person food, water, necessary comforts, etc. and it's also a felony to falsely imprison another person. To boot Greer places himself above the cream by refusing to step down from the case even though it's been requested 4 times.

You know what else I've been wondering? Why is it that every time Greer is going to make a ruling Felos announces what that ruling will be 2 or 3 days in advance of Greer announcing it. Maybe they're sharing glasses.

Anyone have an idea how we can split the work to research that one? Or if anyone thinks there is enough to it to make it worth the manhours? Why is Felos knowing ahead of time?

Is there anyone here who doesn't know Greer's rulings ahead of time? They're not exactly hard to predict.

Greer also seems to know how to read hino's counsel's table's signals. The good attorneys don't get any secret signals from J. Greer.

Greer needs to go to jail. I don't care how or when but he needs to be removed from GUARDIANSHIP FILES, switched to Traffic Court while they investigate him and then he needs to go directly to jail. He's part of the scheme. Integral part.
