Scott handled it well. He should now say case closed and accept no more questions about Gannon/Guckert. Tell the pack of weasels to pack sand.

Wow, what a scandal. This is the best the MSM can do?

So. now the media want the WH to tighten up on issuing press passes? I'd certainly be glad to pull a few passes if it were up to me! :^)

Are we supposed to care about this?

Only as yet another example of the scum-bag lefties that the Bush admin has to put up with.

Q: So he was being cleared under James Guckert, or whatever his name is? McClellan: My understanding, yes.

In other words, he wrote under a pen name. Anyone who does so has their taxes and such done under their real name, but they are known to everyone else at large--on and off the page--by that pen name (unless they introduce themselves under their real name, for example).

I was open to this being some kind of scandal but it's just another example of the press trying to make a huge deal out of nothing at all.

I guess when these folks discuss Huckleberry Finn they don't refer to it being written by Mark Twain.

I think one of the things about this that is amusing is that the MSM keeps bringing up the web sites. I mean, aren't they the ones who always defend people's right to their sexuality, whatever it may be? I think I heard that they were gay web sites or something, which makes it that much more hypocritical of them to bring it up.

But then again, MSM and hypocrisy are pretty much synonymous anyway!

That's what I'm wondering about. The media eexpect us to care about this? They don't have enough to build the molehill, let alone the mountain they're attempting.

Sheesh. A perfect example of trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

This is pathetic.

Truly amazing that the whores of the political left have no more interest than attempting to create a scandal.

"whores" may be more appropriate here than intended. "Jeff Gannon" either was... or moonlighted... as a prostitute. How Scott McClellan knew this prostitute, and how a "news service" that was only a few days old got White House press credentials -- and how the person called "Jeff Gannon" slipped through routine background checks are serious national security issues, not partisan political ones.

This is at least the second or third time in the last few weeks routine background checks have failed to notice glaring problems with people close to the center of the administration.

It's part of McClellan's job to be aquainted with the names of press members. As he said, he's not part of the press selection process. You're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill now.

"and how the person called "Jeff Gannon" slipped through routine background checks are serious national security issues"

Did you even read the transcript? Guckert applied for a pass using his real name.

Do you think all those press prima donnas are using their real names? I mean, isn't "Peter Jennings" a stage name? He may not be a WH reporter, but you get the idea.

What a bunch of dumb*sses! No wonder they are losing ALL of their credibility!

I would like to ask Scott if he knew that Campbell Brown was the daughter of a convicted felon who was also very much connected to the Louisiana DEMOCRAT PARTY. That is a hell of a lot closer to a campaign than Jeff Gannon!

If these creeps want to go down this road I'm willing to "help" them!

Let's also discuss David Gregory's wife donating to the Democrat's campaign. I know there are others I will need to check my files.

Anyone else feel free to add to the list of press connections to the DEMOCRATS!

Terry Moran of ABC has a sister, Margaret Zwisler, who is a Democrat activist, Clinton crony and was involved in scuttling the nomination of Linda Chavez for Labor Secretary.
Zwisler called the FBI and dropped a dime on Chavez , apparently at the urging of George Stephanopoulos and Neil Eggleston, a Clinton lawyer.
Chavez claimed that Zwisler was a liar.
But, Terry Moran apparently has no conflict and is given free reign to file his nightly hit pieces from the briefing room.
I find that connection much more disturbing than anything Gannon did.
