These are words-- just words. I may yet be proven wrong, but I truly feel that most Dems simply don't have it in them to reach out to evangelicals. Even if they want to, I don't believe they are capable of it.

Dean declared that though the Democrats have tried to follow maybe 25 of the 27 main values of the New Testament, they have been poor at communicating this story. Invoking God, Dean declared, "Lord, family values—how could we possibly lose! We are the party of family values!"

What are the 27 main values of the New Testament?

Dean blew it right here as far as I'm concerned.

What, pray tell, are the "27 main values of the New Testament"? What are the 25 ways Democrats claim to follow Christ?

The liberal establishment only follows the idol of their own desires. The only way that men like Dean can call themselves Christians is by redefining the basic tenants of Christianity itself. The priest at the parish I attend made a wonderful point at Mass yesterday. The Church involves itself in feeding and helping the poor, burying the dead, and helping people out, but such is not its main purpose. Such are acts of mercy, to which the Church is certainly called, but those things are not what the Church is about. The Church is about salvation and about drawing men and women to God. The rest, even as pleasing as it may be to the outside world, is secondary to following God.

Liberals will never get that. They try to embrace the secondary aspects of the Christian life but always display a willingness and a tendency to downplay the primary duty of Christians to follow Christ to our salvation. This is why the Democrats will ultimately fail in their little outreach policies.

never happen. dean's own anti-evangelical speeches during the primaries are fertile grounds for harvesting enough hate quotes to guarantee the dems are out in the cold with evangelicals for years, if not generations, to come.

"Dean Vows to Reach Evangelicals as Democratic Leader"

.

.

Would this be anything like he was gonna reach southerners with Confederate flags on their trucks?

"Earlier in the week, congressional Democrats hosted a study session with University of California-Berkeley linguist George Lakoff on how to communicate the Democratic commitment to moral and religious values."

In other words, they asked a leftist LINGUIST the exact WORDING to use to LIE to the Evangelicals to try to FOOL THEM into thinking that Dimowits have moral and religious values!

That's rich! ROFLMAO!

They could just get up in front of a crowd of evangelicals and totally lie, than get up in front of rapid pro-aborts,(99% of democrats), and totally lie.

Just do what they have been doing, say what ever the particular crowd wants to hear.

Sounds crazy, but it works for many.

Boiled to its essence, Dean's new strategy for the Democratic Party is, "We must lie more effectively."

It worked for Clinton.

Boy oh howdy. Dean has his tongue tied in the middle and flapping on both ends. If he could walk as well as he could talk, he'd finish the Boston marathon in fifteen minutes.

"You will see we will walk the talk."

I bellieve the usual construct is, from the days of the civil rights movement,
"If you're going to talk the talk, then walk the walk."
Or, "If you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk."

These gibbering idiots can't even get their own cliches right. How will they ever master the totally alien and (to them) embarrassing language of people of faith? Jim Wallis can't even do it, and he's their biggest name coach.
