Ummm...no. The Cheneys pretend that their daughter's destructive behavior isn't destructive. The Keys seem to be showing strength in the face of their daughters decision. I wish them well, many parents become enablers of their children's problems rather than a steadfast example of holding to principles that lead the way to life and happiness.

Ummm...no...Could it be that the Cheney's have realized that their daughter has chosen to live a different lifestyle? Who exactly is she hurting? She and her partner have been together for several years apparently...longer than some conservatives stay married to a succession of wives.

The point is that, homosexuality is not a "mental disease". It may be a lifestyle with which we disagree (as I do). But, I could never kick my kid out of the house because he/ she is gay. I would love and support them no matter what...as the Cheney's have done with their daughter.

Yes, I can see what the Keyes' are doing....treat her like crap until she "decides" not to be gay anymore. This is of course absurd.

Doubtful. The Cheneys simply don't see their daughter's behavior as destructive. Maybe they would prefer that she was straight, but I doubt they see the destructiveness you describe (and I agree with them).
