Ummm...no...Could it be that the Cheney's have realized that their daughter has chosen to live a different lifestyle? Who exactly is she hurting? She and her partner have been together for several years apparently...longer than some conservatives stay married to a succession of wives.
The point is that, homosexuality is not a "mental disease". It may be a lifestyle with which we disagree (as I do). But, I could never kick my kid out of the house because he/ she is gay. I would love and support them no matter what...as the Cheney's have done with their daughter.

She's hurting herself and us. She's made a disordered pair bond and is pretending that it's a family. If she would keep this thing to herself the damage would be limited to herself but she isn't. She is also a homosexual activist whose organization helped overturn the right of states and communities to decide what is and isn't behavior destructive to societies (Lawrence vs. Texas, amicus brief by the Republican Unity Coalition).
Whether you like it or not, the structure of the family unit is of the utmost importance to human societies. Homosexual behavior is destructive to families because those who advocate for it seek to redefine the family. On an individual level, there are many links to research about the deleterious consequences of homosexual behavior. Free Republic is full of links.
Many people see giving in to their children as "love". Some people turn a blind eye to their kids drinking, or gambling or vegenism. It's not love to abandon children to their destructive impulses at least I don't think so. By kicking her out of the house they aren't enabling her lifestyle choice. Perhaps the idea is to try to separate her from her affliction. If that's what they're after, it's much more loving than being an enabler of it.
