SEATTLE — Mary Kay Letourneau (search) and her former sixth-grade pupil, Vili Fualaau (search), with whom she had two children, have set the date for their wedding, according to an online bridal registry.
Letourneau, 43, and Fualaau, 22, plan to wed April 16, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Monday. Letourneau served 7 1/2 years on a 1997 conviction for raping Fualaau.
"It's been long overdue," said Noel Soriano, a longtime friend of the family who confirmed Sunday that they will marry this spring. "It's going to be fabulous, seeing them get hitched finally."
Letourneau was a married mother of four when she began a sexual relationship with the then-12-year-old Fualaau after meeting at Burien's Shorewood Elementary School in 1996, when she was 34. She was pregnant with Fualaau's first child when she was arrested in 1997 and ordered to serve a six-month sentence for second-degree child rape.
One month after she was released, Letourneau was caught having sex with Fualaau in her car. She pleaded guilty in 1997 to two charges of child rape, and gave birth to the couple's second daughter while serving her 7 1/2-year sentence. Fualaau's mother is raising their two daughters, aged 6 and 7.

I'd love to see how "fabulous" people would see it if it was a male teacher who RAPED a female student, got her pregnant TWICE, and then decided that they get married.... Would LOVE to see that!!!
Will Michael Jackson perform at the wedding? Will Pee Wee Herman be the best man? Will Scott Ritter hang out in the parking lot cruising for pre-teens?
The crazy thing is that his art will probably sell and fetch quite a high price. After all, he's a celebrity in America.

She'll be too old and saggy to catch another 14 YO.
However, Vili was NEVER a 'victim'. He was nailing the teacher and high-fiving his buddies. To call him a 'victim' (and to waste the taxpayer's money by jailing MKL for 7 years) is just p.c. run amok.
Oh I agree, but my above point was if the male teacher was 34 and having sex with the 12 year old female student...

Is it just me, or does anyone else see something very wrong and screwed up about this quote and the entire situation?
Much as I hate to say it, that would be a slightly different case, since (in your scenario) the one with the kids is the one without the means to support them. Still wouldn't be right, but the outrage would be higher since the victim would be the one with (presumably) unwanted kids, not the perpetrator.
What happens when she finds out he is having an affair with another school teacher?

there is no difference , that's the point . Yet, it 's handled in a completly different way because the victem is a boy not a girl. It's all sick sh*t
