HILL & CHUCK NIX DIALLO BILL (Won't Help Family Remain in Country)
New York Post ^ | February 14, 2005 | Vincent Morris

For the second year in a row, Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer have slammed the door on helping the family of police-shooting victim Amadou Diallo remain in the country, The Post has learned.

The refusal is a slap in the face of Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan), who has tried unsuccessfully to help Diallo's mother for two years now.

The bill, which would grant Kadiatou Diallo and other family members permanent-resident status, died in the 2003-04 Congress and has no support in 2005. While the Justice Department has extended the family's stay until spring, it's unlikely to extend it a second time.

A Schumer bill, meanwhile, would allow Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical, a military deserter who could face death if forced to return to Ethiopia, to stay in the United States.

The Diallos are not speaking the right language of Hitlery. It`s called $$$$$. In election season it`s called "promised votes". Anything else with Hitlery goes in one ear and out the other. The only thing Hitlery cares about is Hitlery. She is a Senator unto herself.

I was just reading about Diallo last night in Mona Charen's new book Do-Gooders. A couple of days before he was killed, Diallo had filed a "willfully false" application for asylum, claiming to be a Muraitanian who had been subject to torture after the murder of both parents, both crimes committed by government soldiers.

But he was from Guinea, obviously he wasn't an orphan, his Dad deserted in Ethiopia, and they will be deported to Ghana if the bill stays dead. Anybody know what the heck is going on here?

More of the new "conservative" beast.

I think it's almost certain that this family is a bunch of immigration cheats (see my post above about Amadou's attempt at fraud) but it still wouldn't surprise me if Hillary really thinks, "The best way to convince the electorate I'm a centrist is to screw people with dark skin."

What a tool.
