Alan Keyes' Daughter Coming Out
CBS News ^ | February 14, 2005

Posted on 02/14/2005 12:32:30 AM PST by RWR8189

(CBS) The 19-year-old daughter of Alan Keyes has a Valentine for the anti-gay rights conservative pundit and frequent Republican candidate.

Maya Marcel-Keyes will be making her first public appearance as a gay activist at a Valentine Day's rally in front of the Maryland State House, says Dan Furmansky, the leader of Equality Maryland, a gay rights group.

Last summer her father, a conservative pundit and frequent Republican candidate, caused a stir during the Republican convention by labeling Vice President Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter a sinner and calling homosexuality "selfish hedonism."

"It was kind of strange that he said it like a hypothetical," she told the Washington Post. "It was really kind of unpleasant."

Marcel-Keyes told the Post her parents have thrown her out of the house, stopped speaking to her and refuse to pay for college because she is gay. She said she loves her parents.

Keyes' Web site says he is against "the homosexual rights agenda, including same-sex marriage."

Marcel-Keyes grew up in Darnestown, Md., attended a conservative Catholic school for girls in McLean, Va., spent a year in the south of India advocating tribal rights, and plans to attend Brown University this fall, according to an Equality Maryland press release.

Furmansky told CBSNews.com that Marcel-Keyes would not be speaking to the media ahead of Monday's rally, and probably not afterward, either.

Bloggers have identified her Web site as http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=Xmisled0youthX. The author of the blog says it is public and she has nothing to hide.

"It's better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness"

On the basis of the Bible verse I posted to you, you've now decided that I'm a liar, and that I support pedophiles and rapists?

Seek help.

What bible did you lift this from ?

Get an education.

Since you apparently don't remember, I posted the Bible verse to you here.

No

You posted a reference to a Bible verse, and not the Bible verse (which you do not understand anyway), in comment # 509.

Afterward, you posted genuine Bible verses in comment # 763 but did not have the education to understand the relevance of what you posted.

Your most recent reply to me (before the last one), in comment #761, was It's better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness. to which I responded in comment #777 "You would light a single candle and not lift a finger to defend the prey from the predators."

"SO you're telling me that every gay person was molested as a kid??"

What I said was molested or seduced during the pre-adult years. And yes, that's how SSAD in men is transmitted, and there's nothing "gay" about it.

Some of those so interfered with, of course, do not develop the disorder. Given today's political climate and the problems inherent in self-reporting, especially where people have an incentive to lie, it is impossible to determine the ratio.

Get another Chinese proverb to help you pretend that homosexual addicts and their enablers are normal.

Netizen - Definately looks like people are expected to do something more than claim 'grace'.

Amelia - Well, of course they are. I never said otherwise. "By their fruits shall ye know them."

To: Netizen

We're all sinners, and none of us will "get in" except by His grace.

Your statement above indicates that grace is all that is needed. I was just pointing out your error.

I'm sorry, perhaps you misunderstood.

My statement indicated that none of us can "get in" on our own righteousness, because we are all sinners. But for Christ's sacrifice and grace, we would all be doomed.

Do you think it's a rather human trait to think something like "Yeah, I'm a sinner, but I'm not as much of a sinner as ________ is....________'s sin is really bad"?

I'm sorry, perhaps you misunderstood Jesus when he said

Matthew 19
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Notice that JESUS did NOT say, that he would die for everyone's sins. Notice that JESUS did NOT mention GRACE, NOT once! Instead he tells people to REPENT and KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS. The author of John mentions grace and the author of Acts mentions grace, but JESUS NEVER MENTIONS GRACE! Also for what its worth, GRACE EXISTED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, prior to JESUS.

Do you think its human nature to want to shirk RESPONSIBILITY? To want to take the easy way out?

Don't forget:

Psalm 137:8-10 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)

8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us- he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Keep dashing your children against the rocks, folks!

So you don't believe in the rest of the New Testament, just the words of Jesus?

Do you think its human nature to want to shirk RESPONSIBILITY? To want to take the easy way out?

It probably is, actually.

The girl is 19 years old and has been off to college and has been listening to the wailings of the leftist sodomite students.

The lying sodomite message is "we are oppressed, join us in the fight against oppression, stand with us in our fornication".

Hopefully Keyes has the guts to tell his daughter on Valentines Day that he doesn't let unrepentant lesbians into his home and slam the door.

Sinkspur - Sometimes those we love hurt us the most.

If parents withhold blessings from a child who has gone astray, does that mean that the parents no longer love the child?

Is it wrong for parents to withhold blessings from a daughter who has fallen into a detestable lifestyle?

Yes, it is. Turning one's back on one's own child is never a good thing. I could never do it, under any circumstances.

Total abandonment of a wayward child would be a sin, but temporarily withholding blessings until the child sees their error and repents is wise.

He probably wishes he was dead with the season TTech is having this year.
