No. It's none of my business......or anyone else's on this Forum or anyone outside of their immediate family, for that matter. Nothing personal in that statement, mind you; it's just that I find such articles and such topics offensive, invasive, and meant to do nothing more than embarrass a prominent Conservative.
Damned if FReepers haven't just fallen for it yet again.
According to a report in the Advocate, Mary informed her parents while in high school. It's funny he's kicking her our now, while knowing and even being asked during the campaign about her sexual persuasion. Even funnier that she was useful in the campaign and now she's no longer.
It proves quite the contrary; he had the chance to refuse to personalize it; he chose to, all the while knowing what was going on in his own home.
You may or may not like to hear the truth, but it can be spoken.
I have a problem with Keyesters saying he was baited. Frankly, if he had said anything less, he would have diminished in their eyes. He was more than happy to provide a soundbite. That's not being baited.
The essence of hypocrisy.
Use her, lose her.
That's it in a nut shell. Never mind that it was cruel and hypocritical to name another mother's and father's child while protecting his own privacy.
Bulls-eye!
He certainly is the one who brought hedonism into the conversation.
Mike Signorile: "So Mary Cheney is a selfish hedonist, is that it?"
would have been the place to exercise some judgment.
Judgement requires areas of gray. Alan is into absolutes. Sometimes that hurts.
I just left a message on her latest blog entry (Guess which message's mine?)
Yeah, all these rabidly anti-gay people have gay kids. Maybe there's a pattern here. They don't have their political positions despite their gay kids; they hate gays because they have gay kids.
What is it with parents who hate their own children? How can they be conservative role models?
And of course, there's Ron the Lesser Reagan, who isn't gay, but might as well be.
Anti-gay conservatives say gays should go straight. But then when one does, you attack him anyway. You should be performing certain (purely platonic) acts on him in gratitude for his rejection of the homosexual lifestyle.
I think it has been pointed out that he was prompted by a journalist to comment on this issue.
He's the one who first used the word "hedonism." He offered it up on a silver platter.
Read # 374....it's a heartbreaker.
It's rebellion in its awful form, and I can't imagine what this girl thinks her family did to her to deserve such disrepect and hateful comments.
Surely they have loved and provided for her...
..and no, I don't belive homosexuals are born that way.
Keyes is right about a lot of things.....
..to take this particular comment out of context of all the right things he has said....and bash him with it or write him off, is quite another thing.
Keyes will answer to God for what he does and doesn't do or say....
...so will Maya.....
..so will we all.
Personally, my heart breaks for him.
As well as for the Cheneys.....I don't think either family want this.
I admire Mrs.Cheney for her books and talks...
...the same for Vice President Cheney, I think he's tops!
I think both families need lots of prayer and right now, I think some here need to forgive Alan Keyes, if you continue to hold this against him.
No one could want to walk in his shoes right now.
And for what it's worth....I do see a difference in what Keyes said...(if I understand the context clearly)...
..and the absolute ugly outing to millions of people by Kerry and Edwards about Mary Cheney.
IMO, Kerry and Edwards lack any sense of moral conscience.
Keyes has moral conscience.....but many here are cutting him no slack because he believes what he says...
...He believes it about Mary Cheney and he believes it about Maya Keyes.
Can't you give him points for being consistent?
I certainly hope you're not saying that those of us who disagree with him don't.
I never said or implied that...
..I was specifically referring to Kerry/Edwards.
I will leave this thread now....I am in no mood to be baited.
