(CBS) The 19-year-old daughter of Alan Keyes has a Valentine for the anti-gay rights conservative pundit and frequent Republican candidate.
Maya Marcel-Keyes will be making her first public appearance as a gay activist at a Valentine Day's rally in front of the Maryland State House, says Dan Furmansky, the leader of Equality Maryland, a gay rights group.
Last summer her father, a conservative pundit and frequent Republican candidate, caused a stir during the Republican convention by labeling Vice President Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter a sinner and calling homosexuality "selfish hedonism."
"It was kind of strange that he said it like a hypothetical," she told the Washington Post. "It was really kind of unpleasant."
Marcel-Keyes told the Post her parents have thrown her out of the house, stopped speaking to her and refuse to pay for college because she is gay. She said she loves her parents.
Keyes' Web site says he is against "the homosexual rights agenda, including same-sex marriage."
Marcel-Keyes grew up in Darnestown, Md., attended a conservative Catholic school for girls in McLean, Va., spent a year in the south of India advocating tribal rights, and plans to attend Brown University this fall, according to an Equality Maryland press release.
Furmansky told CBSNews.com that Marcel-Keyes would not be speaking to the media ahead of Monday's rally, and probably not afterward, either.
Bloggers have identified her Web site as
http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=Xmisled0youthX. The author of the blog says it is public and she has nothing to hide.

Keyes is a good man, and I'm sure his daughter is not honoring her upbringing.
Exodus 20:12
"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

"Anyways, I think it serves him right for going out and judging VP Cheney for loving his daughter." There is nothing new under the sun. If Jesus were walking the earth among us today, the same sorts of legalistic "works" mentalities would be condemning him for hanging around with those "other people" that they considered to be the eeeeevil "sinners".
When it all gets boiled down to the essence of what makes them tick, there are only two religions in the whole world, and that's a fact.

Is that like posting behind Alan Keyes' back? LOL!! Keyes is a public figure. He doesn't get to decide who talks about him in response to an article. And he is free to come on FR and respond to any of these posts.
You never answered my question. Are you now a trial lawyer?

Why not present the context for those of us who are, in your eyes, unitelligent and uninformed?

If Mr. Keyes' daughter "came out" as a alcoholic, wold he have the obligation to finance her alcoholic lifestyle? How about if she were a pornographer? A bestialist? A polygamist? The Keyes didn't cut off her lesbian-lifestyle-money (whatever the heck that would be, dental dam cash? money for Indigo Girls CD's?) they stopped paying her college tuition.

You can twist what Keyes said about reparations too, if you like, but as I said, intelligent informed people know better.

" I love him dearly, but as scientific research is showing that societal influence is what probably what causes homosexuality, then it is clear that it is not a biological issue."
Sage, two words in that statement. Probably & Clear.
Are you saying there is direct evidence Societal Influences are the cause of Homosexuality, thereby ruling out any biological, or genetic causes for it?
To: From many - one.
I know the content and context. If you don't then look it up yourself. If you do then you are just lying because you have an agenda against Keyes. If anyone else has doubts they can look it up. It's not hard.

I've known students who were gay in college but turned their backs on that lifestyle once they were out in the world a bit. Then they're not gay, they're bisexual.

Otherwise, I'll assume he said what I heard him say.

I know the content and context. If you don't then look it up yourself.I knew it. Keyes favors reparations for blacks, and I heard him say he favored reparations for blacks.
You don't like that he said what he said, so you're throwing up dust.

He ain't leaving politics -- if he did, he'd have to get himself a real job. Is Keyes really "in politics?" He's never actually won an election, AFAIK.

You can assume anything you want, dinkspur. If anyone reading this has any doubt about whether it is TigersEye or Sinkspur that is lying they can research Dr. Alan Keyes on reparations and find out exactly what he said and his detailed explanation as to why. They will then forever know which one of us has credibility and which one ought to be summarily dismissed without hesitation.

Did he? "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And He said to him, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremost commandment.
Why yes he certainly did.

As to your tagline:
Romans 10:14
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

I knew it. Keyes favors reparations for blacks, and I heard him say he favored reparations for blacks.Yes he did say that. Which is proof that you have read what he said. What you won't say is what specific conditions he placed on his "favor" of reparations or his past stated position on reparations which he reiterated when he suggested support for it. There is a reason you won't recognize that context.

I prefer thinking of them as experimenting. They aren't sure WHICH they are sometimes. They don't go back to that lifestyle as far as I can tell, but, who knows? I'm only speculating.
