Just some ideas on how one might improve a site such as this. So many of the replies add nothing in the form of insightful content where we actually learn from one another through either Socratic methodology or good old fashion give and take. Questions asked are seldom answered but more often than not there is a back handed personal attack or even a direct attack delivered in an attempt to make an argument supporting ones opinion or position on an issue.

I have written several times that such discourse if verbally presented would sound like a couple of dopes on a sports radio talk show yelling at each other thinking that the louder they shout makes their case that much stronger, or like when such dopes reiterate their same opinion over and over again, thinking, now they will agree.

As soon I or others enter the realm of logic and fact in threads dealing with illegal aliens or NRST issues the bobble head side will not listen to facts or logic but will call those who point out flaws in their argument names like "racist" or "shilling for the enemy". I say, names or labels are OK if one can prove the point. That does not happen and the discourse breaks down to the point where the more thoughtful among us just log out.

Yes, but we are not promoting it here.

As far as I can tell, it is perfectly OK to discuss illegal immigration, be against it, call for both a toughening of laws and real enforcement of those laws.

I think it is OK to call for a real wall on both north and south borders and for strong interdiction to keep those walls strong.

I think it is OK to complain about the very real damage illegals do to our economy and infrastructure and a make a call to have ICE do proper deportations.

I think it is OK to point out the incredible affrontry of other country's presidents to critique our sovereign laws and to call for a strong presidential response.

I think these things are OK here -- and appropriate. But calls for vigilantism, using epithets, wholesale condemnation of certain peoples, etc. are never in order. On any board.

But that is just me. And I certainly ain't the owner here.

I agree. Can't say that I've ever seen any of that on FreeRepublic. What I HAVE seen is those on the open-borders side of the issue playing the race card at every opportunity. Apparently I'm not the only one that has noticed it.

Yes, you are missing something. The Stormfronters are into the Minuteman Project up to their eyeballs. They are organizers, volunteers, recruiters and promoters of both Ranch Rescue and Minuteman. Anyone who goes to Arizona for this project will be in the company of many stormfronters.
