I haven't seen/read of anyone asking Green Day or CBS why the flag was backwards behind the Green Day set at the Grammy Awards.

I'll bet the rent Green Day had something to do with it...a few weeks ago they were on a concert tour here in Germany, and they released a press announcement over AFN stating that, "they (Green Day)were in Germany to perform for the Germans, not the GI's, so they didn't want them at their concert"

The flag should be displayed flat, whether indoors or out. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street. When festoons, rosettes or drapings are desired, bunting of blue, white and red should be used, but never the flag.- http://www.usa-flag-site.org/etiquette-display.shtml

Actually, you are all quoting flag "etiquette" those who know it and show it have "class" those who don't show it (like Green Day) don't.

I think you are right... There should be information about the proper way to vertically display a flag.

Did you see their performance last night... ? It was great... I prefer Texas Country Music and Latin music but I thought they jammed last night. To bad I missed Los Lonely Boys... I saw them live with Willie Nelson and they were great.

Did you see their performance last night?Nope. Green Day, IMO, is just another among the throngs of current skater/punk/pop/rock groups who have rediscovered brainless 3-chord speed rock. They're just another anti-American group of opportunist pinheads. Before the last elections, I just thought they sucked musically. Now, I think they suck musically and that they don't deserve to vote.
BTW, do you know how the roadies ensure Green Day's stage is level?
Drool runs out of both sides of Billie Joe's mouth.

I thought they were great too. Much better than that sucky tribute to Southern Rock; that sounded pathetic.

I don't agree with their politics either.. And I wouldn't pay for their CD but I am only 28 years old and their music takes me back to college...

Green Day is nothing but a couple of multi-millionaire mid-thirties types who are still trying to act like angst-fueled teenagers. They are not worthy to shine Joe Strummer's boots.
