Good on our side for finally putting a stop to it.

Yes, a little accountability for all the "journalists" at the NYT and elsewhere will be a refreshing and healthy thing for the daily news in this country. If a few (or more)of the extremists have to be made an examples of, so be it. It certainly has been a very entertaining last few months!

It started with the swifties, don't forget this quote from last year.

James O'Shea, managing editor of the Chicago Tribune
"There are too many places for people to get information," O'Shea said. "I don't think newspapers can be the gatekeepers anymore -- to say this is wrong and we will ignore it. Now we have to say this is wrong, and here is why."

SO... the MSM is *finally* waking up to the fact that they're what's in season.

How typical.

"Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt - the military briefer - asked for a meeting of the bureau chiefs of the major western media. At that meeting he expressed his sorrow over the murder - by terrorists - of the CNN crew and asked the bureau chiefs to take down his personal cell phone number.

He told them that if any of their reporters or crews got into trouble - any time of the day or night - to call him. "Don't worry about protocol," he said. "Get to me as quickly as you can, and we'll try to get help to your people as quickly as we can."

That meeting was never, to my knowledge, reported"

It doesn't fit their mindset...the script is already written. This would interrupt their story that is implanted in the brain....and that colors their reporting.

He said he was troubled by the attacks on Mr. Jordan fact that so many found out so quickly about Jordan's remarks and said that his resignation was a mark of the increasing degree to which the news media were being drawn into the nation's culture wars. called to accountablility.

At the same time, some in the traditional media are growing alarmed as they watch careers being destroyed by what they see as the growing power of rampant, unedited dialogue.

Oh, yeah. It's over. And they know it's over, too. The Old Media's days of lying to the public are over. And that genie is not going back in the bottle either. I could die and go to heaven right now and be happy. I've managed to live long enough to see the end of their viselike death grip on their slanted version of The News.

This "power of rampant, unedited dialogue" is projection if I've ever seen it. Who "edited" Dan Rather? Who makes sure CNN tells the truth when reporting the news? Who double-checks the facts in the trash put out by Reuters and the AP?

They just wish they had the fact-checking capabilities of thousands of pajama-clad, Lexis Nexers like we do.

Sounds like the MSM is getting more than just a little nervous .. but just because Jordan had a deep affection for the reporters he sent to Iraq - he cannot assuage his own guilt for sending them there, by trying to blame the American military.

Sugarcoated with so much sugar that I puke. It wasn't a flaw. It was a deliberate hit piece with phony documents used in an attempt to affect a presidential election. ---

Ditto! I'm sick of these people trying to tell us that is was a mistake, just that Danno was too busy and didn't do enough homework. What a crock!

Rather's handicraft goes way back past "The Wall Within".

It's a concerted attack to discredit us because they see the handwriting on the wall.

I think their attack will fail. I think trying to discredit "us" is going to be like trying to kill a hill of red ants with a set of tweezers. Our will and numbers are too large.

I'm just awaiting the inevitable attempt at government legislation and control coming forward in the near future.
