Do you realise just how little effort it would take to put terrorists in place at U.S. shopping malls?? How do we know they are not already there? Neocon's and certain Freepers seem to think that [as long as Mexicans are not involved] "it's the time honoured American way" to transfer organised criminals (by the thousands) into the USA.

Sort of reminds me of the old CNN board, that allowed "Support the Taliban" links...and banned protests from concerned Americans and Israelis!

Has anyone said anything else about the shooting at the Hudson Valley Mall in Kingston, NY, this afternoon?

The little bit I skimmed out of the thousand post FR thread said one black man had been arrested and another suspect was being sought, that they had automatic hand held weapons, that at least 10 were injured...

Wasn't one of the two DC snipers an illegal?

Just curious...

The NY mall shooting is under close investigation as to who the shooter was and what his motives were.

We don't know yet.

I remember that. I also remember how many right here defended it as an oversight.

If there is one guy in government that I admire, it is Ron Paul.

My view has changed, thank you.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess there's more we don't know than what we do.

According to the NYT... " A gunman wielding an assault rifle opened fire"

What is an "Assault Rifle"?????? I can recall a man shot and killed in Los Angeles in the 1980's for threatening to toss a typewriter (remember them?) at a police officer...wuz that an "Assault Typewriter"???

Honestly. I am confused.

I don't understand why some are so quick to try and get newbies expelled from FR.

The immigration policy of this country is horrible and dangerous. The attacks of 9/11 changed almost nothing about our immigration policies.I was surprised when the Middle Eastern guy at the Dairy-mart told me he arrived here only a month after 9/11 from Islamabad Pakistan.I figured we would have halted most immigration coming from that area until we had better screening abilities in place but I was wrong.I agree with the writer that political correctness will end up costing us to lose many more lives.

True. That is why I am furious that we don't protect our borders.

Usually an 'assault rifle' is something firing military calibre rounds like a Soviet AK47, SKS, or American M1, 14, or 16 range.

It probably wasn't a fully automatic weapon, but you can get them on the same corner as the guy with the watches all the way up to his armpit in the Big Apple.

A federal indictment unsealed in New Orleans this month named 14 Chinese nationals as part of a widespread fraudulent immigration ring. Authorities have arrested 10 of them in cities around the United States, acting U.S. Attorney Jim Letten said.

The indictment came on the heels of an investigation named Operation China Doll that was cut short by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, said an official with the federal Department of Homeland Security.

After putting the case on the back burner after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, federal officials chose to move forward recently in part because the people named in the indictment had fanned out across the country. Indeed, in a series of arrests this year, suspects were nabbed in six states, including New York, California, Massachusetts and Florida.

Huh????? AFTER THE ATTACKS OF 9-11-2001 the Feds put ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and organised crime on the "back burner"?????

What's going on here???

And then there is the case of IsraPundit's "Tamar" who, after months of warning about imending attacks....was threatened with an FBI investigation by ADL regional director (Atlanta) Jay Kaiman,,,,,after 9-11, Kaiman accused Tamar of "incitement" against Muslims, and harrasment!

The more things change......Resa Laru Kirkland has been subjected to intimidation and veiled threats by the editor of a so called "Conservative" publication for daring to suggest that it isn't only "Mexicans" who are evading our authorities and thumbing their noses at our laws.

Welcome to the Family........stupid Americans!

yeap ... don't let my use of humor lead you to think I wasn't sincere in my comment....sometimes, some of us really do suck.

I suspect that the hordes of real trolls, coupled with what appears to be some really insidious 'moles' looking to damage people lives have left a lot of us feeling really fed up! I offer that only as an explanation, not an excuse ~

Freepers for the most part are fair and reasonable folks and I think if we recognize an inclination to mistakenly jump to conclusions we are most of the way there toward correcting it.

I hope that makes sense.......I've been hauling large landscape rocks all day and am bone tired!! If it doesn't, feel free to zot me ~ I'll understand!
