Aye, that much should be obvious!

There is a flood of mexicans coming over our border, that no one knows anything about, because they're not coming in the correct way. There's a reason people file papers and go through hoops to legally enter. I'd imagine we'd catch criminal backgrounds, etc...

Too bad that it is not obvious to our President during a time of war.

Too bad this young woman wasn't "packing heat" to defend herself. Much of the country has lulled itself into complacency when it comes to their own self-defense. The men of our communities should not be asking Washington D.C. or the state to protect our communities. We should be doing it ourselves.

I firmly believe that we, as a society, should offer through Congress - and enforce - the lawful use of the state-applied death penalty in these cases. If this story is true, all 3 perps/accomplices should see the Chair if located and found guilty. (Assuming that our legal system can actually convict criminals and achieve the death penalty anymore).

I can only extend sympathy and prayers for the victim, yet my anger is kindled that this happened in the first place. This story is sick. We need to clean up the country. Hard. Sooner or later, the kid gloves must come off and Congress, the Executive Branch and the Judiciary need to get tough on this bad stuff. I hope and pray that Justice is served.

I'm a little curious about the prominent use of 'alleged victim' in this story. When there's a possibility of a date rape 'he said, she said' situation, I can understand it, but in a case where a woman says she was forcibly kidnapped off the streets and assaulted, I'm surprised at the use of 'alleged'

Is this the new approach to news?

"Telling stories again"

Apparently you didn't actually read the article you linked to. According to the chart in the article California has fewer sworn law enforcement officers than all but 12 other states, and those were mostly underpopulated states such as Alaska or impoverished ones such as Alabama.

But I bet if you found an article comparing the amount of dollars per population spent on embryonic stem cell research or tsunami relief aid California would come in first.

Californians need to hold their own elected officials responsible for their problems instead of always blaming Bush.

Your Tijuana border sector already has fences, floodlights, patrol roads, motion sensors, UAVs, ATV, helicopters, horse patrols, patrol roads, towers, and border guards falling all over each other.

What's missing?

Are you absolutely sure these 3 alleged rapists were illegals?
If not, how can you make off the cuff assumptions? Do you use
the same methodology in your sermons? ( I am making an assumption here that you are a presb. rev. from your ID, but
atleast I am declaring it as an assumption, something you
failed to do in your assumption they were illegals)

And just as a side note, as a legal immigrant US citizen
myself, and knowing how hard the process was, ofcourse I am
against anything illegal.

If y'all really wanted to curtain immigrant labor you would bust your employers of illegal immigrants.

The problem is that they all have green cards and all the required documentation so employers can't tell who's documents are real and who's are forged.

Not even the US immigration department knows exactly how many
illegals are in the country. But you seem to have more
accurate crime stats for illegals. And I do know about murder
stats in Chicago since I lived there for 35 years. Chicago
alone has aprox 700 murders every year, long long before the
flood of illegals.

My last question to you is how exactly do you propose to stop
the flow of illegals? And how do you propose to catch all the
millions of illegals here already? Please furnish cost of
accomplishing that and where do you propose the funding will
come from. I already agree that we need to stop illegals, so
don't give me the crap about we must stop illegals at any
cost. Unless there is a realistic source of funds to do any
job, it is only hot air.

Then how do all the anti-immigrant FReepers always know who's illegal before they even know the name of the perp?

these two killers alone have murdered more women than all mexican illegals combined for the next 100 years at present rate.

Please post a link to the statistics you base this on.

Use google and do it yourself if you are seriously interested.
Now remember, I am talking about MURDERS, not other crimes.
And I follow MSM news pretty regularly, and usually when a
woman is murdered by strangers, it makes national news pretty
regularly.

But to miss my main point is to expose your shallow thinking.
And my main point is, the crimes committed by mexicans, legal
or illegal are no worse than US born whites. There have been
several hundred serial killers in US over past century, and
99% of them have been white, US born citizens, and male. I
am more concerned about that category of criminals than any
other since I have two teen age daughters.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), whose motto is:
"For those within 'the race,' everything; for those outside 'the race,' nothing" supported the nomination of Alberto Gonzales for AG.

La Raza had on its website prior to confirmation:

"Alberto Gonzales served with distinction on the board of directors of one of NCLR's oldest and most respected affiliates, the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) in Houston, Texas…"

Just curious: What is your opinion of La Raza? Is it a racist organization? Anti-American? What is your opinion of Alberto Gonzales holding membership in a race/nationality based organization?

Lots of states did have the death penalty for rapists until state and the USSC called in "cruel and unusual punishment".

Sir, you don't know me at all and the only exchange we've ever had has been one post on this thread. Yet you are able to draw a conclusion about me? Who does that make the shallow thinker?

Rest assured that your daughters mean not a bit more to you than my daughter means to me. Ted Bundy has always been the poster slime for the polished, educated, upper class murderer. The point that you missed is that the discussion was about people who are in this county illegally. Nobody knows if the perps in this article are illegals or not, but still the thread reveals a lot of frustration from people about these illegals committing crimes when they shouldn't even be here in the first place. Nobody even said that Mexicans, legal or illegal, committed more crimes, or murders, than natural born citizens. You were defending something that wasn't even an issue. The point is that people who are here illegally should not be here at all. And the crimes they commit should have never taken place at all if the border was shut down. Not just Mexicans, but Asians and other illegals.

It's time to annex Mexico. The reason they don't have food to feed their families is because all Mexican pols are corrupt. And the corruption trickles down to every facet of Mexican life.

And U.S. businesses cannot take all the blame when the Mexican government itself is publishing comic books to teach the would-be illegals how to make it over and subvert U.S. law.

The government of Mexico is evil. Pure and simple. Is it any wonder evil comes from Mexico and rapes and murders innocent Americans?

Too bad.

In these revolting, disgusting cases, the electric chair, lethal injection and firing squad, in my opinion (of course) would all be appropriate means that the state could use to make sure that justice was served.

It is absolutely critical that the accused are proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, however. With all the radical liberal lawyers, I'm not sure if it is possible to really convict anyone for serious crimes in this country any more and apply the death penalty in every case.

I fully agree on 1 point...anything illegal deserves the
severest of punishments. But why is there such a hue and cry
about illegal mexicans (I am not mexican or even latino) in
this post? If these 3 rapists are not caught as of yet, how
can anyone know they were illegal? It seems a lot of people
here have itchy fingers to let lose on illegal mexicans avery
chance they get.

And by the way here in Northwest USA, illegal Russians are
the worst offenders in our observation. They latch on to every
available government dole out they can. The government even
pays for their interpreters when they visit my wife's medical
office on medicaid. On the other hand, in our own personal
experience (purely anecdotal) a whole bunch of mexicans helped
build our beautiful house. There were concrete workers, brick
layers, landscapers, framer helpers, foundation workers, dry
wall workers, etc etc. And to this casual observer, the mexicans seem to be working harder than any other ethnics.
