Wow. You're early.
OK, one prediction.
Rod Stewart WILL win his 1st (and only) Grammy tonight.
I know you are only watching for the fashion....
I hope Los Lonely Boys win for best new artist. They are fabulous.
I'm rooting for Brian Wilson winning Best Pop Album for "Smile" -- wouldn't that be, er, nice?
Ditto
All the good singers are dead.
The Grammy's are on the same time as The Pro Bowl????
Oh, man, I just was scrolling down to post the exact comment--I might have watched a few seconds of the show had their been a catagory for patriotic or "war songs", because there have been some really good ones since 9/11-
However, I will not watch the grammys---I prolly will watch Ollie's War stories instead, but I will be peeking on this thread to see if there is the usual witty reparte between FReepers---I just love live threads!!!
Ever notice that music is Folk when a lefti sings it and Country when it's sung by right wing people.
I love Big and Rich, and Keith Urban but it makes me wonder.
Country stars usually don't get far unless they kiss the ring of Liberalism.
Nashville will rule the night!
(Go Brad)
I use the same laundermat as Keith Urban (I know, I know, bragging here.) (I go there once a month or so to have them wash a quilt that doesn't fit in my washer.) and the women who work there say he is as warm and friendly as can be and that he tips well, too. Sadly he now uses their "wash and fold" service but he used to sit there in front of a tumbling dryer, scribbling songs-to-be. Nice image.
I need the name of your laundromat immediately. I think I can get some clothes dirty. :)
Oh wait, he's in Australia and Canada until May. I am going to see him in London, Onterio in May.
So true, but "folk music" now goes by "Americana."
Country stars usually don't get far unless they kiss the ring of Liberalism.
I think Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson would dispute that. The Dixie Chicks too, come to think of it.

The Dixie Chicks have kissed the ring of Liberalism. Willi Nelson, Dolly PArton, and Reba too.
Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson- are not well known outside of the arena of country music.
That doesn't mean EVERYONE has, but it does give you a boost going to the LEFT fundraisers and all.
Do any country fans here like the song "Whiskey Lullaby" by Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss? I'm not really a country music fan, but my husband is and I saw the video for it on CMT one day and loved the song.
