DEAN'S MOUTHY DEBUT
NRO ^ | Feb 13 2005 | Tim Graham

Posted on 02/13/2005 9:28:50 AM PST by Dog

For those of you just waiting for Howard Dean to start making gaffes, see the Saturday Washington Post account of his tour through the party's special-interest caucuses. I'm somewhat shocked the Post publicized this little tour. For pure, unadulterated Dean, you get this: "You are among the most persecuted people in the history of mankind," Dean tells his first audience, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus. Let's hope the African-American caucus didn't hear that. (Not to mention anyone who remembers the Holocaust, the Huguenots, throwing Christians to the lions...)

As for what Dean said to the black caucus, he kicks the GOP in the groin. "He surveys the crowd of 150 crammed into the room. 'You think the RNC could get this many people of color into a single room?' he marvels. 'Maybe if they got the hotel staff in there.'"

It's also somewhat entertaining to read Dean trying to adopt spin control about the party's ultraliberalism. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/ap/20050213/ap_on_el_ge/democrats

Dean says that no one is "pro-abortion," but "we are the party in favor of allowing women to make up their own minds about their health care." And Democrats are not for "gay marriage," but "we are the party that has always believed in equal rights under the law for all people." Voters are smart enough to know that the Democrats are staunch defenders of abortion and homosexuality, whatever rhetorical embroidery Dean attempts. How he will help in red states with this kind of talk is a mystery. Posted at 08:48 AM

Very happy that this info was posted on NRO, but we need this stuff out to the general public every day!!!

Well we can help that effort. E-mail this article to your address book. They will e-mail to their friends. And so on. It will reach far more people than you think.

The problem is that he can't possibly be as embarrassing as McAwful was. Every time McAwful opened his mouth, a new embarrassing headline was written.

Agreed. Dean will be the gift that keeps on giving for us but also very much for Hillary. She has no compunction about destroying her party for the sake of victory (read: power). We MUST remain diligent and on task at all times because while Hillary is laughable to nearly all conservatives she still has (too) much cache with large segments of the electorate. She cannot be allowed to easily gain "moderate" appeal. We cannot and should not laugh her off. If Kerry received the most favorable media coverage by the has-been-media I can only imagine the fluffing she will get from now until Nov. 4, 2008.

I would think the crack made to the Black Caucus would be a bit of a kick in the groin to them, also.

Is there a website dedicated to Dean's outbursts, you know something similar to Ratherbiased.com or Easongate.com?

Don't forget that blatant "God is a Democrat" speech given by the "Reverend" at the benediction of the DNC. Howie The Screamer (as opposed to Teddy the Swimmer) just stood there smiling, soaking it all in.

See my post above. If ANY REPUBLICAN MEETING had ended with the same speech as this Democrat preacher, the NY Slimes would be putting it on the front page "REPUBLICAN CHAIR SAYS GOD HATES DEMOCRATS".

Dean is the DNC's way of eating Fugu every day. Odds are they are going to have a bad day eventually. Why are they willing to take such a chance? Maybe for Dean's supposed talent for raising money over the Intenet?

Hope the RNC can get hold of videotape of Dean making these comments and the others that are sure to follow in weeks to come. I can just see the TV commercials now!
